R Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut wooed audiences with a romance-comedy franchise Tanu Weds Manu. The two films that released with the onscreen couple managed to garner immense audience appreciation both times. However, we haven’t seen the return of the third part despite the way people appreciated the chemistry between the pair. When asked the hero, Madhavan, who is the in the midst of promoting Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, revealed that he wouldn’t want to return as Manu.
In report by Hindustan Times, Madhavan was quoted in an interview with the popular YouTuber Jaby Koay, wherein he spoke about the third part of Tanu Weds Manu. “I think that’s water under the bridge. There is no point in beating a dead horse. You know, it’s so difficult to come up with original stuff, and then there are expectations of a film. See, if it’s a sequel to Avengers or a superhero series, it’s easier because you have a template. But with Tanu Weds Manu, it’s impossible. And I think I am done with it. I don’t want to go back to being Manu now,” he was quoted saying.
For the uninitiated, Tanu Weds Manu that released in 2011, showcases the story of the two titular characters, how they meet and how complex their love story gets, eventually leading to marriage. Tanu Weds Manu Returns in 2015 spoke about their post marriage life which deals with their internal issues and the entry of yet another character named Datto who adds twist to the plot. While the 2011 release had garnered a positive response from the audience, the 2015 film managed to break records.
Speaking about Madhavan's forthcoming film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, it marks the directorial debut of R Madhavan and is based on the life of the ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan. It is slated to release on July 1.

Aryan Khan was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on the charges of being involved in a drug case. However, the star kid was given a clean chit by the court recently in the case and now owing to the same, Aryan moved the court on Thursday, requesting them to return his passport.
Aryan Khan was accused of being involved in a drug case after the NCB department conducted a raid on a Goa cruise which included some high profile names on the guest list. He was arrested and imprisoned due to the same, along with which his passport was seized due to the bail conditions. He was granted bail post 20 days of his imprisonment. However, in a charge sheet filed in May, the name of the star kid was not included. And later, Aaryan and five other accused were given a clean chit by the NCB due to insufficient evidence.
Owing to the same, Aryan Khan filed an application on Thursday with the help of his lawyers from the Desai Desai Carrimjee and Mulla firm, asking the court to return his passport, as per PTI reports. And in response to the same, the court has ordered NCB to file a reply before the next hearing which is expected to be held on July 13.

Abundantia Entertainment today ended all speculation around its Hindi remake of the iconic Malayalam film, Angamaly Diaries, by announcing that Arjun Das will make his Hindi debut as the lead in the film. After doing films like Kaithi, Master and Vikram, Arjun will lead a talented cast of young actors in the yet untitled film. In equally exciting news, the Hindi film will be directed by Madhumita Sundararaman who shot to fame with her endearing Tamil film Karuppudurai (KD).
The presently untitled film also marks Madhumita’s foray into the Hindi film industry after doing films in South languages. Set in Goa never seen before on Indian screen, the Hindi adaptation of Angamaly Diaries revolves around the story of a group of friends that form their own ‘gang’ to run a business against all odds in a town that’s as eclectic as they are. Goa forms an apt backdrop to depict the madness, mayhem, and outlandish methods of a unique set of characters who are trying to get ahead in life by using every way possible.
With films like Shakuntala Devi, Chhorii, Sherni and Jalsa, the Hindi adaptation of Anaglamly Diaries is Abundantia Entertainment’s newest addition to its set of exciting offerings to audiences across the globe. The fight between married couple Rajeev Sen and Charu Asopa seems to have reached an impasse. While reports are rife about them heading for a divorce, in a recent interview with Delhi Times, the couple spoke about their issues and blamed each other for their failing marriage. While Charu believes that Rajeev has trust issues, the latter asserts that she hid her first marriage from him.
In the reported interview, Charu was quoted saying, “Everyone knows that we have been having problems in our marriage for the past three years since the time we tied the knot. But I kept giving him chances. Earlier, it was for me and then for our daughter, Ziana.” She further went on to add, that she didn’t realize when these chances turned into three years of marriage.
Earlier this month, the television actress sent a legal notice to part ways amicably. Speaking about the same, she went on to state, “He has trust issues and I can’t take it anymore. I sent him a simple notice asking for an amicable separation, as there is nothing left in our relationship. I want to part ways because I don’t want my daughter to grow up in a toxic and abusive environment. I don’t want her to see people hurling abuses at each other.”
On the other hand, Rajeev Sen accused her of hiding her first marriage from him and his family. He was quoted saying, “Practically no one barring those from her hometown, Bikaner (Rajasthan), knew about her first marriage. It was a secret kept hidden from us. So, this came as a shock to me, and it shook me up badly… three years of marriage and I had no clue. I understand it was her past, but she should have at least told me. I would have accepted it with respect if she would have told me about it before getting married.”
However, Charu asserts that she had told him about her past. “He is claiming that he didn’t know about my first marriage! Not only did he know about it, but also appreciated me for moving on from my past and making it on my own in Mumbai. My first marriage happened in February 2007 when I was just 18 and we separated in November 2016 owing to compatibility issues,” she mentioned.
Furthermore, the blame game continued as Charu even claimed that her own family turned against her. She added that her own mother and sister are supporting Rajeev and his thoughts. She also accused Rajeev of not letting her post pictures of their daughter Ziana on social media as he believes in ‘nazar’ (evil eye) and she doesn’t. She went on to conclude that Rajeev isn’t the man she loved and that this marriage has taken a toll on her health. She has given him enough chances and would like to now move on in life with their daughter Ziana.
On the other hand, Rajeev Sen continued to assert that if their daughter could talk, she would have told the world about how much he loves her and how he is always available for her. He also added that Charu should learn how to respect her family as they have been a support system for her since her struggling days.

Nine years after, Jiah Khan committed suicide, her ex-boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi, who has faced many accusations in the case, have moved the court against the victim’s mother Rabia Khan. As per reports, Sooraj has filed an application at the special CBI court to issue a non-bailable warrant, accusing her of delaying the trail.
Reportedly, Sooraj Pancholi filed a handwritten application, in which, it has been stated that Rabia Khan has been not been paying heed to the summons made by the prosecution. He has also accused Jiah Khan’s mother for not cooperating and avoiding to come to the court, thus, hindering the process of a speedy trial. As per these reports, Rabia has been summoned by the court in relation to the Jiah Khan death case, since February 2022. However, she has not been making these appearances and even filed replies to these summons twice stating that her internet was not working and the second time, she claimed that her home was flooded.
Considering the same, special CBI judge AS Sayyad has asked the CBI to respond to the application filed by Sooraj accusing Rabia of avoiding the court. If these reports are to be believed, after deposing about 14 witnesses, the CBI is yet to present a few more witness to the court.
Readers would be aware that Jiah Khan was found dead at her Juhu residence in 2013. The police investigation claimed that her then boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi was involved and he was arrested by the Juhu police for abetting the suicide. Followed by a series of trials, the Bombay High Court brought in the CBI to conduct further investigation, after which the latter asserted that the case was suicide. While Rabia Khan approached the court many times accusing Sooraj Pancholi’s involvement, in 2017, the latter with the help of his advocate Prashant Patil request the court to fast track the case trials.

Being one of the cult romantic dramas of the early 2000s, the Hindi remake of the Tamil film Minnale, Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil Mein (RHTDM) was known for its music and R Madhavan had become a national crush with the film. Maddy aka Madhavan, who will now be making his directorial debut with Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, recently was asked about the remake of RHTDM and the actor believed that a film like that should not be remade. On the other hand, he also said that, in case it is remade, he would like Kartik Aaryan and Alia Bhatt to play the lead.
Readers would be aware that Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil Mein marked the debut of Dia Mirza and R Madhavan in Bollywood. The film also featured Saif Ali Khan in a pivotal role. Gautham Vasudev Menon, who also directed the original Tamil version titled Minnale, directed the Hindi version too. Speaking about the cult status the film has acquired over the years, R Madhavan referred to remake of the film as ‘foolishness’. In an interview with Pinkvilla, the actor said, “I think it’s foolishness, and that’s my opinion. I wouldn’t want to touch that. I wouldn’t do it as a producer. I wish them all the very best from the bottom of my heart, I do.”
He went on to call the remake of RHTDM as a ‘brave decision’ adding, “For the audiences it is more than a movie. It is sort of an anthem in some ways. It’s like almost saying that 15 years from now you want to remake 3 Idiots. I don’t think it's a sensible…”
On the other hand, when he was asked about Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil Mein dream cast for a remake in an India Today interview, the actor responded, “I don’t think the film will be made, but I don't know who else I will cast. But maybe, Kartik (Aaryan), Alia Bhatt maybe.”

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to 397 distinguished artists and executives to join the organization in 2022. Membership selection is based on professional qualifications, with an ongoing commitment to representation, inclusion, and equity. This year's class of invitees includes 71 Oscar nominees, including 15 winners.
From India, Suriya and Kajol are among the 397 people that have been invited to become members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Director-writer Reema Kagti, producer Aditya Sood and documentary filmmakers Sushmit Ghosh and Rintu Thomas are also included in the list. International stars including Anya Taylor-Joy, Billie Eilish, Jamie Dornan, Dana Walden, and Leonard Maltin have been invited as well among others. According to Variety, "The 2022 class is 44% women, 37% belong to underrepresented ethnic/racial communities, and 50% are from 53 countries and territories outside the United States."
A selection of this year's invitees includes Michael Greyeyes (Wild Indian) to the Actors branch, Elodie Demey (Summer of 85) to Casting Directors, Martin Ruhe (The Tender Bar) to Cinematographers, Paul Tazewell (West Side Story) to Costume Designers, Andrew Ahn (Fire Island) to Directors, and Rintu Thomas and Sushmit Ghosh (Writing With Fire) to Documentary.

Academy Award winner Russell Crowe is all set to star in Julius Avery’s upcoming supernatural thriller The Pope’s Exorcist for Screen Gems.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Crowe will portray real-life figure Father Gabriele Amorth, a priest who acted as chief exorcist of the Vatican and who performed more than 100,000 exorcisms in his lifetime. (He passed away in 2016 at the age of 91.) Amorth wrote two memoirs — An Exorcist Tells His Story and An Exorcist: More Stories — and detailed his experiences battling demons that had clutched people in their evil.
Avery will be directing The Pope’s Exorcist from a screenplay by Evan Spiliotopoulos, with revisions by Chuck MacLean. The script was based on original drafts by Chester Hastings & R. Dean McCreary, which received revisions from Michael Petroni. Per the report, Screen Gems previously acquired the life rights to the chief exorcist from Michael Patrick Kaczmarek and media company Loyola Productions; the deal included rights to Amorth’s two international best-selling tomes.
“It’s been a goal of mine to work with Russell,” Avery said in a statement. “To collaborate with him on the amazing Pope’s Exorcist is truly a dream come true.” Doug Belgrad of 2.0 Entertainment will produce along with Michael Patrick Kaczmarek for Jesus & Mary, Jeff Katz of Worldwide Katz and Loyola Productions President Eddie Siebert, with Scott Strauss, Michael Bitar and Giselle Johnson overseeing the project for Screen Gems.
On the work front, Russell Crowe won an Oscar for his work in 2000’s Gladiator. He recently wrapped a turn in Sony’s Marvel movie Kraven the Hunter, and will next star as Zeus in Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder, which is opening July 8.

Bollywood star Aamir Khan recently extended help towards the CM Relief Fund of Assam. Currently, the state of Assam is going through one of the biggest crises this year due to devastating floods. Over 21 lakh people continued to remain in distress under the impact of the deluge.
In the wake of ravaging surges, several Indian philanthropists are coming ahead to lend help. With their homes and fields submerged, several families in Assam have no option but to inadvertently risk conflict with wildlife in an elephant corridor in Nellie’s Khulahat Forest. Not only are the people without shelters, but there is a scarcity of water and hunger. The catastrophe has gotten bigger than ever and the residents are going to fall into a financial dilemma.
Taking to his social media, the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswas Sarma, shared a gratitude note dedicated to the star. He wrote “ Eminent Bollywood actor Amir Khan extended a helping hand to the flood-affected people of our State by making a generous contribution of ₹25 lakh towards CM Relief Fund. My sincere gratitude for his concern and act of generosity”.
On the work front, Aamir Khan will next star in Laal Singh Chaddha. The film stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh, Naga Chaitanya among others. Directed by Advait Chandan, it is releasing on August 13, 2022.

Emma Roberts is on board to star in the upcoming Spider-Man spin-off Madame Web in an undisclosed role. The film also stars Dakota Johnson and Euphoria's Sydney Sweeney.
As shared by The Hollywood Reporter, introduced in the 1980 comic The Amazing Spider-Man No. 210, Madame Web is a clairvoyant mutant who specializes in predicting the future of Spider-themed superheroes, having mentored not only Peter Parker’s alter ego, but also multiple generations of heroes calling themselves Spider-Woman.
“Traditionally depicted as a blind, paralyzed old woman, she is surrounded by a web-like machine necessary to keep her alive, meaning that she stays away from direct conflict, and rather sends others on missions.” Also joining Johnson and Roberts in the project are Euphoria’s Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O'Connor, Isabela Merced, and Tahar Rahim, with S.J. Clarkson directing from a script by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.
Emma Roberts previously starred in TV shows like Scream Queens and American Horror Story. Her movie credits also include We're The Millers, Nerve, and Scream 4. Emma Roberts' addition to Madame Web marks her first superhero movie role. The new film will likely be heading into production shortly, as it currently slated for a release on July 7, 2023

Only Murders in the Building star Selena Gomez has voiced her opinion on the recent overturning of the landmark Roe v. Wade by the US Supreme Court. Roe v. Wade is the landmark decision that established a constitutional right to abortion.
The singer-actress, who attended the red-carpet premiere of her upcoming second season of the mystery comedy series with co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short, took a moment during the event to speak out against the Supreme Court's recent decision. “It’s about voting,” Gomez told Variety. “It’s about getting men — men needing to stand up and also speak against this issue. It’s also the amount of women that are hurting. I’m just not happy and I hope that we can do everything in our power to do something to change that.”
The singer-actress also pointed others to a recent post she shared on Twitter, in which she shared a link to Planned Parenthood's website, explaining it as a valuable resource on what people can do next to help defend abortion access on a state level. “Watching a Constitutional right be stripped away is horrific,” Gomez wrote on Twitter Friday, the same day that the Supreme Court announced its majority decision. “A woman should have the right to CHOOSE what she wants to do with her own body. End of story.”
Meanwhile, the second season of Only Murders in the Building premieres its first two episodes on Hulu on Tuesday.

Viewers would be aware that the new track of Zee TV’s ongoing prime time television show, Meet showcases Meet Hooda’s pregnancy and the Ahlawat family taking care of her and the baby. An impending 6-month leap in Meet will see Ashi Singh transform dramatically and turn into a Gujarati girl.
Speaking about the change in the track, in the upcoming episodes, after Meet Hooda delivers her baby, her evil sister Manushi (Sharain Khanduja) will be seen replacing the baby with a stillborn child. While everyone will be shattered thinking that Meet’s negligence resulted in such a tragedy, she will find out about Manushi’s evil plan and will try to find her real baby. However, amidst all these twists and turns, Meet will go missing and that’s when the show will take a six month leap. Post the leap, we will see the introduction of a new character – Manjiri (played by Ashi Singh), who is a coy, Gujarati girl and while she looks exactly like Meet Hooda, she is quite the opposite in terms of her characteristics.
A source close to the show, described Ashi’s new character Manjiri saying, “She is a garba dancer who stays with her grandmother and loves to dress up and dance to any tune. With Meet Hooda gone, we will also see how Meet Ahlawat has become stubborn and workaholic, who is focused only on his business and work life. However, he will meet Manjiri and will confuse her with Meet Hooda. He will soon realise that she is Manjiri, but he will still convince her to come to their home and enact as Meet Hooda as his father is really unwell and wishes to meet Meet Hooda before he dies! The upcoming episodes will create a lot of comedy, confusion, and drama for the audience, as some moments will make you feel that she is Meet who has changed her look, while other instances will make you believe that she is not Meet but Manjiri. “
Speaking about the new avatar, Ashi Singh added, “The upcoming episodes of Meet are going to be really exciting for the viewers as the show is going to take a leap of 6 months and the drama will surely keep everyone glued to their seats. In fact, post leap, I will be seen in a fresh new avatar as Manjiri, who is completely different from Meet Hooda. The only common element they share is their face. Her characteristics are completely different. This makes it really exciting for me as the new character not only gives me a fresh challenge, but the character of Manjiri is also very relatable for me as a person. Like her, I also love dancing and dressing up. I truly believe that the leap, my character’s introduction into the show, and the comedy that follows will surely entertain one and all. With horror comedies gaining momentum in Bollywood currently, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani is all set for a quirky ghost film. Titled Phone Bhoot, the film features a unique casting ensemble of Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ishaan Khatter and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. Now, the makers have unveiled an announcement poster of sorts and giving a glimpse of the horror comedy.
From what we hear, the track used for the video is supposedly the theme track of the film along with the logo of Phone Bhoot. A source close to the film confirmed, “Sharing the quirky video unit as with the theme track of the film, the makers are all set to reveal the theatrical release date tomorrow.” It was earlier being said that the film’s release will coincide with the anniversary of another Excel Entertainment film, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara but it seems that the makers have shifted the date.

Five weeks ago, we saw the release of the Anees Bazmee directorial Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Starring Kartik Aaryan, the film that opened on a good note saw its business increase multi-fold as the weeks progressed. In fact, the Bhushan Kumar – Murad Khetani productions venture that also featured Kiara Advani has been doing rather well, managing to cross the Rs. 100 crore and Rs. 150 crore mark. Now, at the close of its fifth week running, the film's business has slowed down, but is inching its way closer to the Rs. 200 crore mark.
As Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 dominates the box office window, looking back at Kartik Aaryan’s last five releases at the box office what stands out is the fact that the actor has been doing rather well. Meera Chopra is renowned for her bold choices of roles on screen. Her upcoming film Super Woman is India's first film on asexuality. The first look of another film featuring Meera, titled Safed, was recently unveiled in the latest edition of the famous Cannes Film Festival.
On Super Woman, Meera Chopra said, "I was so intrigued by the script. The term 'asexual' is alien to Indians. So many women and men struggle to make their peers understand how they feel about it. While researching for the film, I came across jaw-dropping statistics on the number of suicides and forced marriages of asexual women. It is alarming! With "Super Women," we aim to bring a ray of hope to people who are struggling to convey their real feelings to society."
Sharing his thoughts, Piiyush Singh, Chief Operating Officer, Golden Ratio Films said, "As a production company, GRF has a reputation for producing films that the general public can identify with. While researching I was appalled to see documentaries that belittled women merely as sex objects."
Super Woman has been directed by Zaigham Imam, who is globally known in the film festival circuit for his remarkable body of work and features stalwarts like Tigmanshu Dhulia and Poonam Dhillon. The film has been produced by Golden Ratio films.

Flash star Ezra Miller, who is currently embroiled in numerous legal troubles, has reportedly been accused of hosting a mother and her three children at their Vermont farm which is equipped with easily accessible firearms.
According to Rolling Stone, a Hawaii father says he is concerned for his young children who are staying with their mom on the actor's Vermont farm, claiming that guns and marijuana are easily accessible to them. The outlet spoke to both the mom and dad in question, plus two sources with "knowledge of the situation."
The 25-year-old woman, who's currently living there with her three kids (who range in age from 1 to 5 years old), per Rolling Stone, told the publication that Miller has "helped" her get away from what she described as an "abusive ex" and expressed gratitude for having a "safe environment." She said the actor's farm "has been a healing haven for us."
A video from April that was reviewed by the publication showed "at least eight assault weapons, rifles, and handguns lying around the living room, with some weapons propped up next to a pile of stuffed animals," according to the publication. The outlet also reported an incident about the 12-month-old baby who once got hold of a bullet on the farm and put it in their mouth.
"I got a bad feeling in my stomach. I do want to go get my kids, they mean the f---ing world to me," the dad told the publication who claimed that Miller paid to fly the woman and her kids to Vermont after meeting them in Hawaii earlier this year. The mother told the outlet that Miller "may have firearms for self-defense purposes and they are stored in a part of the house that the children never go in… My kids are able to relax more into their healing because of the safety and nurturing Ezra has been providing for them."
According to Hawaii court records obtained by Rolling Stone, the mother pursued one domestic abuse case against the father in 2021. It was terminated when both failed to make a court appearance. The father has denied all abuse allegations. Meanwhile, the father reportedly filed a domestic abuse case against the mother in April, related to her taking the children out of the State, per Rolling Stone, but that case is still pending.
Ezra Miller was previously accused of grooming a minor from the age of 12 by her parents. The couple filed court documents in Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Court and alleged that the actor has been "physically and emotionally abusing" as well as "psychologically manipulating, physically intimidating, and endangering the safety and welfare" of their daughter, who is now 18, since she was 12.
Earlier this month, the actor was reported to be on the run and missing with the 18-year-old. They have also mysteriously deleted their Instagram account after sharing several memes mocking the allegations against him.
Ezra Miller has been arrested twice within the last three months. Previously, the actor was arrested while vacationing in Hawaii for alleged harassment and disorderly conduct at a karaoke bar and for an alleged assault at a private event.

He explains, “Because it is such a great role, it is such an interesting, juicy part for an actor to play. Then, I really had to convince Adi and Karan. I think after that Karan did a couple of look tests and that’s when he got convinced also. So, initially, it wasn’t offered to me but it hooked me thoroughly as an actor. They were two unique characters and for an actor like me, to play two distinctive characters and make them different was very challenging and very exciting for me.”

Shah Rukh Khan was last seen on the big screen in his VFX-heavy home production Zero (2018). It released nearly three and a half years ago. The good news for his fans is that he will now be seen in as many as three films in the lead role – Siddharth Anand’s spy actioner Pathaan, Atlee’s massy entertainer Jawan and Rajkumar Hirani’s light-hearted drama, Dunki. All three films will release next year.
For all those Shah Rukh Khan’s fans who can’t wait till next year to see him in cinemas, there’s good news. He’ll be seen in a special appearance in two films, both of which will be released in 2022. The first film is Rocketry – The Nambi Effect. It is directed by R Madhavan who also features as the male lead. It is based on the life of Nambi Narayanan, a former scientist who was falsely accused of espionage. The other film is Brahmastra, the much-talked-about sci-fi fare, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna.
Bollywood Hungama has learnt that SRK doesn’t have a blink-and-miss role or an appearance lasting just a few minutes in these movies. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “In both Rocketry – The Nambi Effect and Brahmastra, the superstar has a screen time of nearly 20 minutes. In both films, his presence is said to be crucial to the narrative. For SRK fans, this can be a nice treat before he appears in all his glory in Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki.”
Rocketry – The Nambi Effect will be the first film to release out of the two. The source continued, “Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero was released on December 20, 2018. Rocketry – The Nambi Effect releases on July 1. In other words, SRK will be seen on the big screen after 1287 days when Rocketry – The Nambi Effect hits cinemas!”

Popular rapper Raftaar and his wife Komal Vohra have parted ways after six years of their marriage. The two of them have been reportedly living separately and filed for divorce in 2020.
According to several reports, the proceedings of their separation had been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. But, they will be now signing the divorce papers on October 6, this year. “Both have moved on in their respective lives and the couple, along with their families, remain cordial,” the source told Hindustan Times. The couple is yet to release an official statement.
Raftaar and Komal Vohra met through a mutual friend and dated each other for almost five years before tying the knot in 2016.

Pop titans BTS, the newly appointed ambassadors for Busan’s World Expo 2030 bid, announced that the group would hold the Global Busan Concert to support the nation’s bid to host the 2030 World Expo in Busan Metropolitan City.
HYBE’s Chairman Bang Si-Hyuk and CEO Park Jiwon, and Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City Park Heong-joon signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) this morning at the Busan Metropolitan City Hall to promote Busan’s bid for the World Expo 2030. As part of the agreement, BTS as ambassadors will hold the Global Busan Concert in efforts to bring the World Expo 2030 to Busan.
The memorandum covers joint initiatives for Busan to succeed in its bid as the host. It includes BTS to: Act as the ambassadors;Hold Global Concert in Busan, activities to appeal to the members of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE); Personally introduce the proposed site for the BIE Enquiry Missions; Serve as the ambassadors at South Korea’s presentation session; Be present on the election day to support the bid; Provide photos and videos for the city's digital campaigns, and; Spread promotional videos via official social media channels, and more.
Chairman Bang said, “Given the importance of its bid as a nation to host the World Expo 2030 in Busan, BTS and HYBE will do our best to successfully bring the World Expo to Busan. The much-awaited trailer of Brahmastra unveiled on June 15. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy, the sci-fi film with a dash of mythology has been in the making for a long time and has generated tremendous buzz. What has also added to the hype besides the concept, scale, VFX and the pairing of the real-life couple Ranbir and Alia is the presence of Shah Rukh Khan. As per reports, the superstar has a cameo in the film and his character plays a crucial part in taking the narrative forward.
The actor was not seen in the trailer of Brahmastra and it seems that he would be absent from the film’s promotions as well. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The makers of Brahmastra have planned a lot of promotional activities before the release. They were toying with the idea of having Shah Rukh Khan attending an event held to promote Brahmastra. He’s one of the biggest stars today in India and also, he hasn’t made such an appearance since ages. As a result, they felt that if he can make it, then nothing like it.”
However, the superstar respectfully declined the offer. The source continued, “Shah Rukh understood the intention of the makers. He also knows that it’s a passion project for them and has the highest respect for how they have gone all out in giving the film an international look. However, he doesn’t think it’s a good idea for him to attend the promotions of Brahmastra. He felt that they have enough on their plate to excite the audiences, be it music, grandeur, presence of talented actors etc. Also, he wants to keep away from events and media glare for the time being. He’d prefer to attend such film events only for the promotions of his comeback film, Pathaan, which releases on Republic Day 2023. SRK feels that this strategy would work better for the Siddharth Anand-directorial since it features him as the main lead.”
The source then stated, “The makers of Brahmastra, including producer Karan Johar and director Ayan Mukerji, completely agreed with Shah Rukh Khan’s point of view, and have decided to go ahead with the promotions without SRK.” Brahmastra is all set to release on September 9.

In the few days since it dropped on Netflix, the film is the Non-English content on the streaming giant which has garnered 4.12 million watch hour viewership (June 12-June 19). It is spending its first week at Top 5 on the platform.

When Jugjugg Jeeyo trailer was launched with much fanfare, it also featured the relationships that Karan Johar shares with the entire cast of his production, including Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor. On the other hand, the lead actor of the film Varun Dhawan aka Kukoo has been KJo’s ‘student’ since the start of his career and now that he has become a star from just a star kid, he spoke about the filmmaker and his habits. During this exclusive talk with Bollywood Hungama, Varun’s onscreen father Anil Kapoor had an interesting quip to add and needless to say, the ‘Jhakaas’ actor added his witty lines to make it even more entertaining.
Anil Kapoor was asked to speak about Karan Johar and how his career has continued to be successful for all these years. While dissecting the reason behind his success as a filmmaker and producer, Varun said to Bollywood Hungama, “He understands pop culture very well.” Anil Kapoor continued, “That’s the reason he has been so consistent as a filmmaker, producer, director. You see his track record. People have been successful for what, 5-10 years. I think now Karan has been hugely successful for approximately more than two decades.”
The conversation was then taken over by Varun Dhawan who revealed that Karan Johar hangs out with a lot of the younger generation like Ananya, Sara, Janhvi and even younger ones now, like Shanaya. “So you all have become seniors now,” quipped Anil, to which Varun responded, “He only hangs out with kids. I told him it looks weird and that you are very grown and you need to hang out with adults too, you know!” During this conversation, Neetu joined it adding, “Hum ko toh kabhi invite nahi karega na hangout karne ke liye,” she asked Anil. To the same Anil responded, “Hum jaana bhi nahi chahte,” that left everyone in splits. He continued it in his quirky way, “Bulaya toh achha, nahi bulaya toh aur bhi achha.”
Speaking of Jugjugg Jeeyo, the film features Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor as parents of Varun Dhawan, who is on the verge of divorcing his wife played Kiara Advani. It also stars Maniesh Paul and Prajakta Koli in pivotal roles. Directed by Raj Mehta, the film will hit the big screens on June 24.

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri continues to stay in the headlines ever since his blockbuster The Kashmir Files soared at the box office. The filmmaker has maintained that he directed the film in order to bring the issues of Kashmiri Pandits to the spotlight. In a recent interview with a foreign publication, the filmmaker compared making the movie with that of 1993 Steven Spielberg's directorial, Schindler’s List.
In the interview, Agnihotri continued to deny the claims that the film had the government of India's support and that the film has encouraged people to vilify Muslims. “It was impossible to make a film about the Kashmiri Hindu genocide,” he told New Yorker. “The reason was terrorism; everybody was scared. But then we decided to do it. People came to my office and hit my manager. I was heckled. So now the government of India has given me security. And this is exactly why people do not make movies on the Kashmiri Hindu genocide, because it is assumed that, if Hindus are in the majority in India, then they’re powerful everywhere, but this is wrong. When Schindler’s List was made, the whole world appreciated it and people said, ‘Yes, you brought the truth out.’ But imagine making Schindler’s List when the Nazis were ruling. Imagine making it when Hitler was ruling. Now terrorism is ruling.”
Furthermore, when asked whether he was comparing the current plight of India with Schindler's List because terrorists rule in India, he said, “Oh, of course. I don’t think there is any human being who’s going to appreciate the terrorist activities. Our film is very clearly about what happens when terrorism seeps in and when humanity is absent. And, therefore, the impact of the movie as desired by me as a filmmaker is exactly what is happening. People are crying, they’re hugging each other, they’re saying, “We are sorry.” And the whole entire India is coming together. And that’s why there is so much euphoria.”
He maintained that The Kashmir Files is a soft emotional film. “It’s an emotional film. It’s got a more feature-film format rather than a harsh statement,” he said.
The Kashmir Files starred Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi, and Mithun Chakraborty.

Janhvi Kapoor who made her Bollywood debut with Dhadak, is currently busy shooting for her upcoming films. Amidst that, the actress signed on an interesting venture which will bring her together with father Boney Kapoor for the first time. Producer Sandeep Singh Bedi recently announced that he will be getting the father-daughter duo for the first time onscreen. However, it is not for a film but for an advertisement.
Janhvi Kapoor and Boney Kapoor will be coming together for the first time but it is yet to be seen if they will reprise their real life roles onscreen. Although details of the ad weren’t revealed, Ricky Singh Bedi aka Sandeep Singh Bedi has confirmed the project by sharing a photo with the two of them. While Boney Kapoor generally maintained his role of a producer and behind the camera, he is supposed to be making his big acting debut with Luv Ranjan film starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor. It seems that the producer will be doing yet another screen appearance and this time with his daughter.
Speaking of Janhvi Kapoor, the actress has a number of projects in her kitty. She will next be seen in the OTT release Good Luck Jerry which is a remake of the Nayanthara starrer Tamil film Kolamaavu Kokila. It will be followed by a series of films like Bawaal with Varun Dhawan, Mr. and Mrs. Mahi with Rajkummar Rao among others. While the actress will be seen in a special appearance in the Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon starrer Bhediya where Janhvi will reprise her role as Roohi, there are also rumours that she will be doing a dance number in the Karan Johar directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead.
