In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Ankit Tiwari expressed his commitment to his own unique style and artistic abilities. While he acknowledged the influence of trends in the industry, he emphasised the importance of staying true to oneself and not succumbing to the pressure of following every popular trend.
During the interaction, the composer-singer was asked about something he cannot do, no matter how much it trends. In his response, he stated, "It has happened many times. But there are certain weird and terrible things that I can't do and won't do. It is not in me... Like I can't do 'Kaccha Badam'. I am incapable of doing it. No matter how much it trends.”
Explaining his take further, Tiwari added, “Many times, you tend to lose yourself in the trend. I don't think I have that much talent (laughs) to do something like that. Whatever talent I have, whatever I know, whatever I have learned from others, I will definitely use that to achieve what I can in my music, to contribute to it."

As previously announced, Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas starred in the first-to-launch series within the Citadel universe, which came from the Russo Brothers’ AGBO along with David Weil and premiered in April 2023 and wrapped the first season on May 26. Additional local-language Citadel productions are also in the works, including an Italian Original series starring Matilda De Angelis called Citadel: Diana and Indian series starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The Bhediya actor promises never-seen-before action and he is already gearing up for the international schedule.
“It has been amazing working on it. We are going to be filming in Serbia. We have a month-long schedule over there with a lot of action. It is a very big series, nothing like people have seen in India yet,” Dhawan told PTI at IIFA 2023.
Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK are directing the Indian version. “The makers are pushing the envelope. Samantha and I can’t be doing something mediocre. She is one of the hardest-working actors,” Dhawan added.
He added, “There are some directors who are on your bucket list. For me, it was Shoojit Sircar (October), Sriram Raghavan (Badlapur) and Nitesh Tiwari (Bawaal). Some of my best performances come out when I work with these directors as they push me.”
For the unversed, Varun Dhawan had his international debut with a cameo in Priyanka and Richard’s Citadel. In the fifth episode, Priyanka Chopra’s Nadia Sinh has a secret child with Mason Kane, played by Richard Madden and she has kept the news under wraps. During the flashback from 8 years ago, she makes a call to the terrorist Rahi Gambhir in an attempt to relocate to Spain after she finds out about her pregnancy. When she is confronted by Mason and Osy Ikhile (Carter Spence) about contacting Gambhir, she reveals that the man is, in fact, her father. Played by Paul Bazely, he helps her escape Citadel in order to move to Spain. Interestingly, the call that happens on the episode is dubbed by none other than Varun Dhawan. His cameo gets confirmed when the end credits roll and thank Varun.

Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha, who have been the talk of the town recently, seem to be busy trying to lock the venue for their impending wedding. The couple, who got engaged earlier this month, is expected to be tying the knot in Rajasthan as per current reports. From what we hear, Parineeti is currently in the state where she was seen spending time with her relatives. Further adding to the speculations, it is being said that Raghav will be joining the actress soon.
As per IANS reports, Parineeti Chopra arrived in Udaipur on Saturday and was staying at Udaipur Palace, along with her family members too staying at Udayvilas. Later, she was reportedly seen having lunch with her relatives. Furthermore, adding fuel to the fire, Parineeti Chopra is also expected to have had a meeting with Shikha Saxena of the Tourism Department, wherein she was seen asking about the touristy places and hotels in Udaipur. If that was not all, Raghav Chadha is expected to have visited Jaipur to scout for wedding venues, followed by Parineeti Chopra joining him on Sunday, May 28.
If these reports are to be believed, it seems that Parineeti Chopra wants to follow the footsteps of Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who too tied the knot in Rajasthan way back in 2018. However, the couple are yet to choose between Udaipur and Jaipur.
News about Parineeti Chopra getting engaged to Raghav Chadha started doing the rounds last month. Later, reports had it that the couple had hosted an intimate ‘roka’ ceremony before exchanging rings at Kapurthala House in New Delhi. Over the past couple of months, there have been a number of reports based on the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan. Directed by Atlee, the film, which also features Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, has been making headlines for its shoot to various other aspects. One such reason the film has been grabbing eyeballs is the reports of Pushpa star Allu Arjun making a cameo in Jawan. However, contrary to reports, Bollywood Hungama has learnt that the actor will not be seen making a cameo.
“Jawan is already a rage, ever since its announcement thanks to its casting the film has been a major discussion topic. Shah Rukh Khan fans too are eagerly awaiting its release, and have been hanging on to every reports that comes out. But when it comes to Allu Arjun featuring in Jawan the rumours are totally untrue,” reveals a well-placed industry insider to Bollywood Hungama. Continuing further the source adds, “It was all just a rumour that Allu will be seen in Jawan, in reality he was never even approached for a cameo. As of now the only cameo in Jawan will be that of Sanjay Dutt.”
Despite the reality of Allu Arjun not featuring in Jawan, we are still excited to see Shah Rukh Khan on the big screen in a new avatar after Pathaan. As for the movie itself, Jawan is directed by Atlee Kumar starring Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. Initially, expected to release in June this year, the makers of the Red Chillies production postponed the film to September 7 as they needed more time to work on the VFX of the film.

OMG Oh My God, which was released in 2012, was a courtroom drama which starred Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. It was the story of Kanji (Paresh Rawal), an atheist, whose shop got destroyed in an earthquake. When the insurance company refused to reimburse him citing ‘act of God’, Kanji filed a case against God. Akshay Kumar played Lord Krishna and how He became a part of Kanji’s struggle formed the crux of the film. Now, after 11 years since the triumph of Oh My God, Akshay Kumar is set to delight audiences once again with the sequel, Oh My God 2, a social comedy that promises to entertain and engage viewers.
As per Pinkvilla, a source close to the development said, “Akshay Kumar along with his partners, Ashwin Varde, Viacom 18, and Jio Studios have decided on a theatrical release for Oh My God 2. Several discussions happen throughout the course of making, but, Oh My God 2 was always announced as a theatrical venture. The officials never commented on the OTT release, and even today, the film is being readied as a theatrical venture. The final edit is being locked and worked upon at this point of time. The theatrical release date of Oh My God 2 will be announced soon.”
Last year on December, Akshay had made his presence felt at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia where he shared an interesting detail about his upcoming film. He had revealed while having a conversation with moderator Kaleem Aftab that one of his forthcoming films talks about the importance of sex education. Akshay had stated, "It’s a very important subject. In a lot of places, (sex education) is not there. We have all kinds of subjects we learn in school and sex education is one topic I would like all the schools in the world to have. (This film is) going to take time to release, it’s going to be April [or] May.”

Following a petition against their upcoming film Ruslaan, a Delhi court has recently served a notice to Aayush Sharma, who is Bollywood actor Salman Khan's brother-in-law, as well as producer K. K. Radhamohan and South Indian actor Jagpathi Babu. Satyabrata Panda, an Additional District Judge at the Patiala House Court, presided over the hearing and directed all the defendants to submit their responses within a week.
The case has been scheduled for another hearing on June 9. Social activist Jagdish Sharma and actor Raajveer Sharma, represented by their lawyer Rudra Vikram Singh, filed an injunction suit seeking to halt the release of the film c. The movie is being produced by Radhamohan, with Aayush Sharma in the lead role. The plaintiffs claim that Ruslaan is a replica of the original 2009 film Ruslaan, produced by Jagdish Sharma, where Raajveer Sharma portrayed the main character.
According to the petition, the defendants were accused of copying the dialogues and storyline from the original film titled Ruslaan. The trailer for Aayush Sharma's forthcoming movie, which also features Telugu superstar Jagapathi Babu and Sushri Mishra, was unveiled on April 21. The 2009 film Ruslaan starred Megha Chatterjee, who happens to be the daughter of renowned actress Moushumi Chatterjee, in the lead role.
Directed by Katyayan Shivpuri, the film Ruslaan unveiled its official trailer on April 21. Alongside Aayush Sharma, the movie also features the debutant actress Sushrii Mishraa in the lead role. Filmmaker Sudipto Sen has been directing movies since over 20 years, including documentaries. But he has achieved fame in recent times with the release of his Bollywood movie The Kerala Story, which stars Adah Sharma in the lead.
Sen, unfortunately, has fallen ill recently after traveling a lot to promote the film. With the filmmaker being hospitalized, he won’t be able to take part in the city-to-city promotions of The Kerala Story.
Sharing more about his condition, a source said, “Sudipto Sen along with the team has been continuously traveling promoting The Kerala Story and due to excess travel, he has fallen sick. Which is why, the promotional plan and city visits are at hold. The Kerala Story is already a blockbuster success and will have a long run at the box office in the next month. The filmmaker has requested the audience to keep showering love on the film and has appealed to people to watch it with family. The filmmaker will soon be back to continue the promotion and will touch 10 cities.”

Prime Video today announced the global streaming premiere of the Hindi action-adventure film, Bholaa. Directed by Ajay Devgn, and jointly produced by Ajay Devgn FFilms, Reliance Entertainment, T-Series, and Dream Warrior Pictures, the film features Devgn in the titular role, alongside Tabu and Amala Paul in pivotal roles.
Bholaa, a former convict, is released after 10 years of imprisonment and wants to reunite with his daughter, whom he hasn't seen for years. However, this is abruptly halted when he becomes unwittingly involved in a well-coordinated drug-bust. As events unfold, Bholaa is forced to confront his past and make difficult decisions while pushing through obstacles lurking at every corner.

Aditya Singh Rajput, who was an actor and model, was found dead under suspicious circumstances at his Mumbai residence on Monday. Soon after his death, various media reports speculated that the cause of his death was drug overdoses. While the post-mortem reports of Aditya are still in reserve, his mother has broken the silence and slammed the reports.
Usha Rajput, who came to Mumbai from Delhi late on Monday night, told Hindustan Times that she had been getting calls and messages from people asking her about the authenticity of the drug overuse as the cause of death. She asserted, “By putting such unverified claims, they are maligning the name of my son and my family. This is a cruel thing to do.”
She further added, “On Monday afternoon, I noticed that my entire chat history with my son had been deleted. Not being so technologically savvy, I called him around 2.15 pm to ask what might have happened. He told me there was some problem with WhatsApp and he would text me again. However, he didn’t say anything about being unwell.”
She recounted receiving a phone call from a close friend of Aditya on Monday evening, who informed her about his untimely passing. She said, “I panicked and was shaking; I had to call a neighbour to pack my bags and help me book a ticket to Mumbai.”
The Mumbai police is currently investigating the matter and recorded the statements of three people - his domestic help, private doctor and watchman.

Shahid Kapoor and Ali Abbas Zafar are joining hands for the intense dark thriller Bloody Daddy which is all set to premiere exclusively on JioCinema, on June 9. The stylized action-packed ride will also feature an ensemble cast of Diana Penty, Sanjay Kapoor, Ronit Roy, and Rajeev Khandelwal in pivotal roles. Earlier today evening Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions shared a rather cryptic message on their official twitter handle, talking about an impending announcement. As per the post on Twitter, a mega announcement is about Karan returning to the director’s seat in a new avatar, essentially beginning a new era. Well, Bollywood Hungama is the first to inform you that the film in question is a two-hero action venture that will see Karan at the helm. If what we hear is true, the yet untitled venture will feature Tiger Shroff and Varun Dhawan in lead roles.
Sharing details, a well-placed source exclusively tells Bollywood Hungama, “On May 25, Karan will be turning a year old, and with that he intends on embarking on a new journey of filmmaking. So far Karan’s forte in filmmaking has been family dramas and romantic stories. However, he is eager to try his hand with the action genre.” Ask for why the sudden shift and the source continues, “For 25 years now Karan has been doing a certain kind of cinema, and he is looking to experiment and change. Change is always good, and given his experience in filmmaking, it will most certainly be a cake walk for him. But yes, action is the new genre that Karan is looking at right now.”
Further talking about the casting, the source continues, “Tiger Shroff has already established himself as an action star with films like Heropanti, Baaghi, and War. He has excelled in entertaining the audience with his high-octane stunts and perfect execution. So, it comes as no surprise that Karan has roped him to feature as one of the two leads in the new project. As for Varun Dhawan, he too has had his share of action film, though they were action dramas or comedies, he has proved that he has what it takes to become an action hero.”
Though currently only Tiger and Varun have been locked as the male leads of the film, Karan is busy working to lock the female leads as well. Interestingly, the source reveals, that Karan has been toying with the idea of tyring something new for a while now, “Karan has been looking for a shift in genres, and with action films doing well, and being well received by the audience he feels that this is the perfect genre for his to start.”
While the official announcement of the project is likely tomorrow, we are already eager to hear more details of the project.

Actress Aditi Rao Hydari has signed her next following the hit series Jubilee. A film titled Lioness, it is an official Indo-U.K. co-production being made under the 2008 bilateral treaty. The actress will star alongside British star Paige Sandhu, known for her role in Emmerdale. The project was announced at the Cannes India pavilion on Tuesday.
The film is written and will be helmed by Kajri Babbar. As per the report in Variety, “The film is inspired by the research of Peter Bance, the historian who wrote about Princess Sophia Duleep, one of the key leaders of the suffragette movement in the U.K., the Princess of Punjab, granddaughter of Maharajah Ranjit Singh and the goddaughter of Queen Victoria. The film will tell the story of two British Punjabi women living in the U.K., a century apart. While Sophia’s story is rooted in history, the second story is a fictional tale of Mehak Kaur an educated, married immigrant woman living in 1990’s Southall.”
Peter Bance is one of the executive producers of Lioness alongside Ajit Pal Singh. The producers include Vivek Rangachari, Vaishalli Paatil, Faraz Ahsan and Clare Cahill. The filmmakers revealed that the film has been certified by the National Film Development Corporation and the British Film Institute. A patient named Shivani Chakraborty made a last wish that she wanted to speak to Shah Rukh Khan and her daughter penned a note on Twitter in order to make her mother's last wish come true.
In a chat with Aaj Tak, Shivani had said that she wanted the Pathaan star to “bless my daughter” and even promised to visit Kolkata and attend her daughter's wedding. She had earlier said, “I will cook for him something that we eat at our home every day. The popular television sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been making consistent headlines for a variety of reasons, sparking controversies within its production. The makers of the series have recently faced allegations from several former cast members. Another former actor to join the list is Priya Ahuja, who used to play the character of Rita Reporter.
For the unversed, initially, Shailesh Lodha, a former star of TMKOC, accused the show's makers of delaying his payment. More recently, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal came forward, accusing not only the production team but also Asit Kumar Modi, the creator of the show, of harassment. Following these revelations, Monika Bhadoriya, who portrayed the character of Bawri, shed light on the behind-the-scenes struggles of being an actor on the show.
In an interview with the Times Of India, Priya asserted, “The artists have to go through mental harassment when they work on Taarak Mehta. Asit Kumarr Modi bhai, Sohil Ramani or Jatin Bajaj (he’s like my younger brother) they never misbehaved with me. But as far work is concerned I’ve been subjected to unfair treatment.”
The actress further stated that she was completely unaware of her character's trajectory, even after her director husband's departure from the show. Priya revealed that she had attempted to seek clarification from the makers but received no response. Furthermore, she recounted instances where the show's producer, Asit Modi had made sexist remarks. She recalled, “Asit bhai has told me this many times ‘Malav is earning then why do you have to worry? You enjoy life like a queen.”
Ahuja also added that it is “unfortunate” that she did not get the basic respect despite working with the team for 14 long years. Speaking of the professional front, Priya recently made a comeback on the TV screens with StarPlus’ Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin.

Adah Sharma’s The Kerala Story is now the single most successful female-hero film of all times in Hindi. But Adah is already looking ahead. “In my next The Game Of Girgit, I play a cop. It's a cool film based on this app called the Blue Whale app. There was this whole thing a few years back. This game created quite an uproar. It should release soon on an OTT platform,” she informed.
Adah was busy with other projects while shooting for The Kerala Story. “I've shot The Game Of Girgit and two more films before The Kerala Story. Kerala happened to release first. We shot The Game Of Girgit in Bhopal last August. There’s one more film I did with Darsheel Safary, who was in Taare Zameen Par. That’s also a strange thriller, a lot of fun and creepy,” added Adah.
Adah, who celebrated her birthday on May11, sheepishly admits that she received far more attention on this birthday than ever before.
Directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, The Kerala Story also stars Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani and Sonia Balani. The film tells the story of three college girls, who are persuaded to convert to Islam by a fellow female student.

Anuradha Paudwal has been in the news for the last couple of days for heavily criticizing the trend of remixes of old songs in new Bollywood movies. In an interview with Indian Express, she specifically spoke about the remix of her song ‘Aaj Phir Tum Pe’ from Dayavan, which was remixed in Hate Story 2, and expressed the kind of negative impact it had on her.
Paudwal has now clarified that her comments were against the remix of the song and not Arijt Singh in particular, who sung the remix along with Samira Koppikar. In a statement released, the veteran singer said, “I have always preferred the original song to a remix. Many people feel the same. My comment about ‘Aaj Phir Tum Pe’ was about the remix, not the singer. Remixes should do justice to the original song. So many 90s songs are redone but they don’t do any justice to the original. We have also done tributes to music composers but they were done gracefully.”
She added, “I would urge (the) respectable media not to sensationalise statements. Isn’t there enough in the world to talk about? If they must, let them speak about the cause we have taken up of gifting sound to the underprivileged.”
Recalling her reaction to the remix of ‘Aaj Phir Tum Pe’ remix, Paudwal had said, “That had happened when someone asked me to listen to this (remix) from Dayavan. That person told me it is a super-duper hit track and sent it to me. I was in tears when I heard it. I immediately switched to YouTube and heard my original song from the film multiple times. Tab jaake mere mann mein shaanti aayi (Only then I found peace).”

Salman Khan is not just a successful superstar but also a prominent producer and besides, he has other business interests as well. That Salman dabbles in real estate is common knowledge and today, news has come in that he’s all set to build a swanky hotel in Mumbai.
As per a report in The Times Of India, Salman Khan plans to construct a 19-storey hotel facing the sea at Carter Road, Bandra. The building plan has been approved by the BMC and work is expected to begin soon.
The plot, where the hotel will be located, once housed a residential society named Starlet. The abandoned building which stands on the plot will be demolished after which the construction will commence.
According to the article, the hotel will include three-level basements while the first and second floors would be reserved for a café and restaurant. While the third floor will have a gymnasium and swimming pool, the fourth floor will be reserved as a service floor while the fifth and sixth floors will have the convention centre. The hotel rooms will be located between the 7th and the 19th floors.
Interestingly, the plot is located 200 meters away from Freeda One, the residence of fellow superstar Aamir Khan.
The report further mentions that Salman Khan and his family had initially planned to redevelop the property into a residential building. But the plan was changed later on. The proposal was submitted to the BMC more than a year ago in the name of Salman Khan’s mother, Salma Khan, the owner of the property.
On the work front, Salman Khan recently released Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which arrived in cinemas on Eid. His next film will be Tiger 3, which will be released in theatres on Diwali 2023. Salman recently shot a scene with Shah Rukh Khan. The Pathaan (2023) star has a special massy appearance in this Maneesh Sharma-directorial.

It has been some time now since the announcement of Karan Johar’s next directorial venture Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. Starring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi the film made headlines for its casting. Ever since then in fact, there have been constant updates on the film and its progress that fans have lapped eagerly. Well, now Bollywood Hungama has learnt that the first look poster of the film is all set to be launched later this month. If what our source tells us is true, then the said poster will be launched on Karan Johar’s birthday.
“A while back Dharma Productions had released the logo of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, now the film is ready and the makers will be officially releasing the first look poster later in May. Making the launch special, especially since it will mark Karan’s return to the directorial seat, plans are being set to reveal the poster on May 25, which will coincide with the filmmaker’s birthday”, reveals the well-placed source to Bollywood Hungama. While the film still has a low way till it hits screens in July 28, Karan and Dharma Productions are busy planning a massive promotional campaign that will feature on ground activities, digital integrations, and of course social promotions. Detailing further the source adds, “The entire promotion campaign for Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani will start after the poster launch on May 25. So expect a grand unveiling ceremony that will also mark Karan’s 51st birthday.”
While we can’t wait for the film to release, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is said to be a romantic comedy directed by Karan Johar and written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy. Produced by Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios, the film is slated to release on July 28, 2023.

As we head closer to the release of Om Raut-directed and Bhushan Kumar-produced Adipurush, the excitement only piques up. Now, it seems that the composers of the song Ajay-Atul are going to give a real feel of 'Jai Shri Ram' song with a live performance. The duo will perform a live orchestra with more than 30 chorus singers for the Adipurush song as they launch it at a grand event in Mumbai. The lyrics for the song have been penned by Manoj Muntashir.
'Jai Shri Ram' has been created with utter devotion from Ajay-Atul along with Om Raut and Bhushan Kumar. Talking about the same, a source says, “The entire team of Adipurush believes that the soul of the film rests in Jai Shri Ram. It’s a song that will resonate with the audience for generations to come by. Jai Shri Ram spreads positivity and has been created with a lot of devotion by Ajay Atul Bhushan Kumar and Om Raut. The team has planned a unique launch for the song at a grand event in Mumbai. In a tragic piece of news, actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Aparshakti Khurana's father Pandit P Khurana passed away today. As per a statement by his family, the astrologer passed away in Mohali at 10:30 am after suffering from a prolonged incurable ailment.
A statement shared by Aparshakti's spokesperson read, “It’s with our deep sadness to inform that Ayushmann and Aparshakti Khurana’s father, Astrologer P Khurana passed away this morning at 10:30am in Mohali, owing to a prolonged incurable ailment. We are indebted for all your prayers and support during this time of personal loss”.
Pandit P Khurana was a renowned astrologer. He is survived by wife and his two sons Ayushmann Khurrana and Aparkshakti Khurana.

Director Sooraj Barjatya was recently in the news for his 2022 acclaimed film Uunchai and also after reports emerged that he is gearing up for his next directorial, featuring Salman Khan. As per reports, this family entertainer is expected to release in cinemas on Diwali 2024. The blockbuster director, however, is not just busy with his directorial venture. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “While it is common knowledge that Avnish Barjatya has shot for his directorial, the title hasn’t been announced yet. The film is named Dono. The makers feel that this is an apt title and goes well with the film’s storyline.”
Dono marks the debut of not just Avinsh but also Sunny Deol’s younger son Rajveer and producer Ashok Thakeria and actress Poonam Dhillon's daughter, Paloma Thakeria Dhillon. As per reports that emerged last year, the film is a coming-of-age love story, which explores modern relationships set against the backdrop of a lavish destination wedding. In March this year, Sunny Deol’s elder son and Rajveer’s brother Karan Deol posted a picture of him, Sunny and Rajveer on the sets of Dono in Thailand.
In March 2021, Rajshri Productions announced that they were launching Rajveer Deol in Avnish Barjatya’s film. Exactly a year ago, on May 20, 2022, Rajshri confirmed that Paloma Thakeria Dhillon is a part of this film. As per a statement released by the makers at that time, Avnish Barjatya stated, “Paloma is a powerful performer and has tremendous screen presence. She is the perfect fit for my character. Her immense work ethic and enthusiasm make it so exciting to be working with her every day. Paloma and Rajveer share great chemistry together on screen and play off each other really well. They have both seamlessly blended into their roles.”
Dono is expected to release in cinemas this year.

Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan is one of the most keenly awaited films of this year. There have been various reports since last year claiming that Sanya Malhotra is also a part of this film. But the actress never admitted the same. She has now, however, broken her silence and officially announced that she is indeed a part of Jawan.
In a chat with Indian Express, Sanya said, “I am excited because I can finally talk about it. Before this I would give some really weird answers every time I was asked whether I am in Jawan or not.”
Sharing her experience of working with Shah Rukh, she added, “I always hoped to work with SRK one day, so it is a dream come true. I cannot wait to see myself around him… it is a dream role, a dream film. Just to be around him makes me really happy.”
Directed by Atlee Kumar and also starring Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, Jawan was earlier supposed to release in June this year. But, earlier this month, the makers of the Red Chillies production postponed the film to September 7 as they needed more time to work on the VFX of the film.
Coming back to Sanya, she will next be seen in the Netflix movie Kathal, which is directed by Yashowardhan Mishra and produced by Guneet Monga.

For the unversed, the film was earlier titled as Satyanarayan Ki Katha, which translates to The Story of Satyanarayan, another name for the Hindu god Vishnu, which caused controversy. The title change was announced in a statement by director Sameer Vidwans in 2021.
Kartik re-posted the comment on his official Instagram account, stating that the title would be modified to avoid offending anyone. “A title of the film is something that emerges organically through the creative process. We have taken a decision to change the title of our recently announced film 'Satyanarayan ki Katha' to avoid hurting sentiments, even if that's purely unintentional. Producers of the film and the creative team also are in complete support of this decision. We will be announcing a new title for our love story in the due course of our journey. Sincerely, Sameer Vidwans,” the statement read.
Satyaprem Ki Katha also marked a massive collaboration between NGE and Namah Pictures. Interestingly, Sajid Nadiadwala and Shareen Mantri Kedia with Kishor Arora & director Sameer Vidwans won a National Award for their respective feature films Chhichhore and Anandi Gopal. Satyaprem Ki Katha is slated to hit theatres June 29, 2023.

The Kerala Story has emerged as a surprise blockbuster at the box office. The shocking content of the film has led to polarized reactions. While many applauded the makers for attempting to throw light on the topic of forced conversion, many felt that it tries to show the Muslim community in a bad light. At the press conference of the film held in Mumbai, director Sudipto Sen was asked about how there’s not a single Muslim character in the film who’s shown positively. The journalist also raised concerns about the walls of the characters being pasted with inflammatory posters.
Sudipto Sen replied, “The film is not about any religion. It is about three girls, and they represent the suffering of thousands of girls. We were not here to do the balancing act, that thoda Hinduon ko accha dikha de, thoda Musalmanon ko accha dikha de. We wanted to tell the story the way it happened. Each and every word being spoken and each and every visual being shown in the film are correct.”
Sudipto Sen continued, “The sinister plan of terrorism has been watched across the world and not just in India. Europe, Australia and America are suffering. But in other countries, the opposition and the ruling party are together against terrorism. Unfortunately, in my country, it is said that terrorism has no religion but when it comes to Kerala, as soon as we start talking about terrorism, immediately people start talking about religion. I am sure you know how terrorists misuse religion. So, I think that we have actually done service to the Islamic religion (as we have educated) people that your religion is being misused. We have also done service to the nation and to these girls.”
Sudipto Sen further said, “Every patriotic Indian should go and see the film to know that we are in danger. The iconography that you see in the film is deliberately used. The radicalization of Kerala has reached dangerous levels.”
Also present at the press conference were producer Vipul Shah and actors Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani and Siddhi Idnani. Moreover, 26 women from Aarsha Vidya Samajam, Kerala also graced the press conference. The makers claimed that they were brainwashed similarly to the characters in The Kerala Story.

Filmmaker Rahi Anil Barve’s supernatural drama Tumbbad garnered positive reviews and earned accolades at the box office as well. The film starred Sohum Shah, who also produced the film, along with Jyoti Malshe, Mohammad Samad, Dhundiraj Prabhakar, Anita Date and Ronjini Chakraborty.
Over the last few years, the talk about Tumbbad’s sequel has been making rounds. But Sohum Shah has now revealed that they don’t wish to stop at the sequel. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, he said, “We really wish to make Tumbbad 2 and 3.”
But he made it clear that the sequel is still in its initial stage. “It is not being made right now,” said Shah. “It is being written. It has been five years since Tumbbad released. We are trying but we haven’t cracked an idea till now. Definitely we would like to make Tumbbad 2. But we don’t wish to make it just because the first film did well. We should feel that the story is of the level of the first film. It should do justice (to the first film). When you receive so much love from people, it becomes your responsibility.”
Tumbbad was an unusual subject told and presented in a different way. Despite that, Shah was sure it would work. “I was expecting this (it to do well) because we knew what we were making was very different and new. That’s why I gave seven years of my life to this film. I said no to a lot of work. We started in 2012 and the film released in 2018. There was always this faith and hope that this will work,” he said.
Off late, Shah has been receiving rave reviews for his work in the recently released web series Dahaad on Amazon Prime Video. Directed by Reema Kagti and Ruckika Oberoi, the show also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Gulshan Devaiah and Vijay Varma in pivotal roles.

The supernatural fantasy television series Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal premiered on Colors TV on February 13, 2023. Based on the popular American series The Vampire Diaries, the Indian adaptation starred Karan Kundrra, Gashmeer Mahajani, and Reem Shaikh in the main roles. Despite featuring an ensemble cast and an intriguing storyline, the show seemed to have lost its appeal in just a few days. Recent reports suggest that the Yash Patnaik production is scheduled to go off-air in June of this year.
The news was confirmed by one of the lead actresses, Reem Shaikh. While the series initially generated excitement among viewers with its supernatural elements and romantic plotlines, it failed to sustain the interest of the audience. The reasons behind the decline in popularity remain unknown, but it seems that the show failed to captivate viewers as expected.
Speaking on the same note, Reem, in an interview with ETimes TV, asserted, “We all knew that it was a 52-episode finite show from the beginning. The show did well on the channel's online platform, and we put in our best. The entire team worked hard. It is okay if a show is not able to connect with the TV audience, we win some and some lose.”
Besides Reem, no one from the cast of the Colors TV show or the makers has commented on the news as of now. Also, it is worth mentioning here that Reem has not shared details of its wrap and the date of the last episode.

The countdown for this year’s IIFA (International Indian Film Academy) Awards has begun. The 23rd edition of the prestigious awards show is all set to take place on May 26 and 27 at Yas Islands, Abu Dhabi. The event will be graced by a long list of Bollywood celebrities. Apart from this, the other attraction at the event will be masterclasses and workshops from some renowned names from the industry.
Filmmaker Kabir Khan will not only trace his beginnings in cinema during ‘Director’s Cut with Kabir Khan’ along with thoughts and anecdotes but will also share five tips for aspiring directors.
Sharing his excitement at being a part of this year’s IIFA, Kabir said in a statement, “I’m really looking forward to the interaction as it will give me a chance to retrospect and introspect on my choices too. This kind of knowledge exchange not only makes for a stimulating conversation, it also works to the benefit of cinema. I will not only be celebrating box-office wins and awards, but also reflecting on the failures of projects one was passionate about and negative press which can dent your confidence as a filmmaker momentarily but can never keep you down.”
Omung Kumar, the National Award-winning director of Mary Kom, who is also the applauded production designer of films like Black and Saawariya, will create a set design on a chosen subject while conducting ‘A 360 degrees of creativity in Cinema with Omung Kumar’
Omung will discuss how his dream of being an actor enabled him to understand and develop his creative streak. He will also reveal how long it takes to create an ‘Omung Kumar’ piece of art. “I will be sharing a case study or two from favourite projects, along with influences and inspirations that helped create these works of art. The idea is to help understand how to take their flair for painting into the world of film and television,” asserted Omung Kumar.
He added, “The interaction will be a journey in itself, starting from the beginning to what I am doing next, if the awards and accolades have influenced my thoughts and changed my work, along with a few words of wisdom for those who plan to follow me into the industry.”
Renowned make-up and beauty guru Nabila will also be taking a masterclass on her subject of expertise. Her brand ZERO Makeup and team Nabila are going to be the official hair and makeup partners for this year’s edition of IIFA.
Ahead of the masterclass, Nabila said, “I am thankful to IIFA for adding the hair and makeup segment to the creative workshop series. Here I will share insights into the pitch, process and production involved in image making.”
Speaking about the masterclass sessions, Hans Fraikin, Abu Dhabi Film Commissioner, said, “These masterclasses help connect commercially successful and critically acclaimed filmmakers, like Kabir Khan and Omung Kumar, with an audience that shares the same interest in the art of filmmaking. Meanwhile, a large number of film personalities will grace the event as attendees. Jennifer Mistry aka Mrs. Roshan took Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma fans by shock when she accused the producers of the Sony SAB show of mental and sexual harassment. Followed by that, another popular actor of the show, Mandar Chandwadkar, who essays the character of Mr. Bhide, denied these allegations and accused Mistry of lying. An upset actress recently revealed that she is disappointed in her best friend as he even attempted to convince her to not take action against the producers.
In an interview with ETimes, Jennifer Mistry said, “I know the production team will not speak in my favour, they will obviously support the production house. But my best friend from the show, Mandar Chandwadkar, I am disappointed with him. I've shared birthday posts for him every year on social media. He has been a close friend and I am surprised that he's saying that I don't know why Jennifer is saying all this and Taarak set is not male chauvinist. Firstly, he himself is a male, so he will never admit it. He knows every single thing that I am saying and he knows it is right. He knows point-to-point what all is happening in our life, especially mine. Sonalika Joshi, Ambika Rajankar and Mandar we are close friends. He knows each and every word of mine.”
She further went on to recall how he was the first person to call her when she sent the complaint draft to the producers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma. “When I sent a draft of the complaint to Sohil Ramani on his WhatsApp on April 4, Mandar was the first person to call me. He called me 6 times till the next morning and sent me messages. He told me I got to know from Sohil that you are planning to file a sexual harassment case against them, why are you doing this? I asked him to stay out of it. I told him if you can't stand for me or speak the truth, stay out of it. If you can't stand with me then don't lie. I am ready to fight and stand alone. I told him categorically that don't stop me from what I am doing. He asked me to think about the show and I told him that my best wishes are with the show. I told him I am because of the show and I'm grateful for it. Gratitude is on one side and fact is on another,” she added.
She also maintained that she wouldn’t have taken his name had he not accused her of lying. “I had no interest or intention to take Mandar's name. He spoke against me and that's why I'm taking his name. Mandar has called me every five days to ask what's happening. Then why were you calling in the past few months? You knew all the developments and you never denied them. I told him during the conversation that you are aware of what happened in Singapore with me. Aren't you? He heard everything on the phone and in affirmation. Then why was he hearing the conversation? Why didn't he say then Jennifer you are lying? My other two colleagues also knew about the situation, but I don't want to take their names," she concluded.

It is a matter of great pride for us that the Shekhar Kapur-directed What’s Love Got To Do With It? is one of the big hits of the season in the UK. The behind-the-scenes happenings during the shooting, however, were not-so-smooth between Kapur and Jemima Khan, formerly married to the exiled Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, who wrote and co-produced the film.
Multiple sources confirm that Shekhar and Jemima “could not see eye to eye” from the beginning. By the time the movie neared completion, the two ceased all conversation and were “most definitely not on the same page” on how to edit the film.
Sources said that Jemima took the uncut film away from Shekhar and edited it on her own without his consent.
A source said, “The film What’s Love Got To Do With It? that you see on screen is not how Shekhar edited the footage. It is Jemima Khan’s version of what Shekhar shot. Several scenes were chopped off without his consent.”
