In May 2022, in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Farah Khan shared interesting information with regards to her debut directorial, Main Hoon Na (2004), starring Shah Rukh Khan. She said, “Different posters were made for B and C centres in which Shah Rukh was holding a gun in his hand, and Suniel Shetty was also featured! In Mumbai, the posters gave the idea that it was a fun, musical entertainer.”
However, there have been times when the distributors or exhibitors refused to put up the posters provided by the makers. Instead, they have taken commercially-appealing stills or snapshots of older films and made them seem like the poster of the actor’s latest film. The idea behind it is to attract moviegoers, never mind that it results in cheating.
Ajay Devgn, in fact, got into trouble when an Ajmer resident went to the court and asked for Rs. 4.50 lakhs. According to the complainant, a local cinema hall, which was playing his 2019 romcom, De De Pyaar De, had put up a poster that showed Ajay doing a stunt. But the said scene was not there in the film. Ajay, however, was granted relief in this case as his legal team made it clear that he can’t be held responsible for publicity and promotional material. The bench said an actor has nothing to do with hoardings, posters or deciding on the parts to be edited out.
During his exclusive interaction with Bollywood Hungama, Ram Gopal Varma said that his film Company (2002), which also starred Ajay Devgn, also had such modified posters made. He said, “I had designed a classy poster of my film Company, featuring Ajay Devgn and Vivek Oberoi. When it released, nobody in the North put up that poster. They created a new poster, featuring Ajay Devgn from a different film, holding a gun. They also showed Ishaa Koppikar exposing her thighs. I had never put that on any of my posters! They picked it from somewhere.”
RGV then added, “However, I think they are right in doing so because they are catering to an audience who they know. That poster would surely appeal to the guy visiting single-screen cinemas in Patna. So there’s a logic to it.”
Ram Gopal Varma remarked that often our film personalities are not aware of the realities of the country and what works in A-class centres might not appeal to the mass audiences. To prove his point, he narrated an interesting anecdote, “When Dolby and DTS came to India, its officials used to fly down from London to teach filmmakers how to handle it. They had strict standards of how much volume you can have for the sound, what decibel of sound should come in the left and right speaker, etc.”
RGV continued, “This was a time when Mr Subhash Ghai was working on Trimurti (1996). The tendency then was to play everything on high sound. These Dolby officials however said, ‘No, no, you can’t do that. Bring the volume down’. Subhash Ghai was fed up with their diktats. They were in Prasad Labs, Chennai. He took them out of the studio on the streets and asked, ‘Have you heard such traffic noise in your country? People are using the horn in their cars all the time and they are shouting and talking. You can’t put what your audience wants and our audience on the same page’.”
That’s not all. Ram Gopal Varma revealed, “Later, he took them to see a Rajinikanth film, which had been released at the same time. Inside the theatre, for the first 30 minutes, nobody could hear anything except people shouting and cheering! He asked them, ‘How do you incorporate your idea of sound level in such an environment? You are catering to an audience that watches films silently. Here, there is an audience whose decibel level is much more than the decibel level coming from the speakers’!”

We had earlier reported that Kunal Kemmu will turn director with a comedy in collaboration with Excel Entertainment, headed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, Kunal Kemmu announced his directorial venture and also unveiled the title which is Madgaon Express.
Kunal Kemmu took to social media to share the title announcement poster of Madgaon Express and further spoke about it in his caption that read, “Ganpati Bappa Moriya. As all good things begin with his name I can’t think of a better day to share this with all of you. It started with a thought in my head which grew into a dream which flowed out through my fingers into words on my laptop and now it is becoming a reality on its way to the silver screen. A big thank you to Ritesh, Farhan and Rucha at excel entertainment for believing in my script and my vision and partnering with me on this exciting journey in the world of cinema. With joined hands and a bowed head I seek all of your blessings and the blessings of ganpati Bappa. Introducing Madgaon Express.” Further details on the film are yet to be revealed.

Kunal Kemmu also posted a video of him celebrating Ganesh Chathurthi with his wife Soha Ali Khan and daughter Inaaya Naumi Kemmu wherein they were seen visiting a Ganpati pandal at a temple near his residence. He extended his wishes to his fans and followers on Instagram, saying, “Wishing everyone a Happy Ganesh Chaturthi. May lord Ganesha bring happiness peace and light into all your lives. Apart from that, Kunal Kemmu has a couple of projects lined up in 2022 which include Vipul Mehta’s Kanjoos Makkhichoos, and Raj & DK’s Amazon Prime series Gulkanda. On the other hand, Excel Entertainment will be producing the multi-starrer Jee Le Zara featuring Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif.

Host Karan Johar keeps asserting about how the manifestation game on Koffee With Karan Season 7 has been going strong, time and again. Tiger Shroff, for the longest time, has been fiddling with the game, is he single? However, in the latest episode of Koffee With Karan Season 7, the actor finally came clean, or so we would like to believe! Sitting cool behind his coloured shades, the star finally revealed about his relationship status. “I am single. I think so at least and I am currently looking around,” admitted the star.
However, he did not just stop at the mere acceptance of his singlehood. He also went ahead to manifest a name that very few have linked with him. “I have always been infatuated by Shraddha Kapoor. I think she is great!” the star said. The actor was paired opposite Shraddha in Baaghi which went on to become a success at the box office. The hit pair returned for the third installment of the franchise but failed to recreate the same magic.

The recently held 67th Filmfare Awards was truly a festival of Indian Cinema with many films bagging some prestigious awards. From Shershaah to Sardar Udham, some of these films won big, bagging most of the technical awards. And the Best Actor award was given to Ranveer Singh for his portrayal of Kapil Dev in the sports-based biopic ’83 which also featured Deepika Padukone as his reel-life wife Romi Dev.
A video from the award ceremony found its way online where we saw a thrilled Ranveer Singh also getting Deepika Padukone on stage. The announcement was made by their friend and popular filmmaker Karan Johar. Ranveer received the award saying, “Ranveer Singh powered by Deepika Padukone.”

Followed by that, he also expressed his gratitude for receiving this honour and thanked everyone for it. He said, “The past few years have been wonderful. This is the 4th Filmfare in about 6 years which is pretty awesome. I have had the privilege of working with some of the finest filmmakers in the country. I credit them with this (trophy). This achievement is only possible because they believe in me and they believe I can be part of their vision and contribute as an artiste and bring to life the story that they want to tell.”
He added, “This was a very special part and once I am done with my responsibilities here I will call Kapil Dev sir. Just cannot wait to speak to Kapil paaji and connect with him and tell him that this is for him. Winning 5 Filmfare Best Actor awards feels quite incredible and is really humbling.”
Directed by Kabir Khan, ’83 featured an ensemble cast that played the role of the 80s Indian Cricket Team. The film recreated the iconic win of India in the 1983 World Cup match where their team played the match against England in Lords Stadium. Besides Ranveer Singh, the film also featured Harrdy Sandhu, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Ammy Virk, and Saqib Saleem among others. The film released in December 2021.
On the work front, Ranveer Singh will next feature in Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus which also stars Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez. He also has the Karan Johar directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani starring alongside Alia Bhatt, with Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan. While Cirkus is expected to release by the end of this year, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is said to hit the big screens next year.

Over the past few years, several theatres and multiplexes have begun showing live matches on the big screen. The trend has picked up as instead of going to the stadiums and paying for expensive tickets, one can rather watch the match in the confines of an air-conditioned auditorium at cheaper rates. Also, if the occupancy is encouraging, the claps and hoots give viewers a near stadium-like experience.
Theatres have shown IPL and World Cup matches in the past. On Sunday, August 28, many centres across the country played the India vs Pakistan T20 Asia Cup match. And they hit a sixer as the response was better than expected. It also came at a great time when the exhibition sector has been struggling as big-ticket films like Laal Singh Chaddha, Raksha Bandhan and Liger bombed badly.
Puneet Gupta, AVP - Corporate Communications, Inox Leisure Limited, said, “We got decent footfalls, as compared to the previous cricket matches. We played it in 30 cities and 60 screens. The match next Sunday might also be that of India vs Pakistan. So we’d promote it well and hope we get better footfalls.”
Devang Sampat, CEO, Cinepolis India, stated, “The response was fantastic. Cinepolis was also the distributor of the India vs Pakistan match. We released it in 250 cinemas and it recorded 80% occupancy.”
Akshaye Rathi, a film exhibitor and distributor, revealed, “From the three national chains, almost 20,000 tickets were sold which led to collections of approx. Rs. 1.20 crores.” He continued, “We have won the first match and hence, there’s more anticipation and excitement. I am assuming more ticket sales will happen for it.”
So happy are theatres with the response to the India vs Pakistan match that they have decided to also screen India vs Hong Kong match, on Wednesday, August 31.

He also shared a poster of the comic book collection which featured the Rooh Baba caricature along with the popular ghost of Manjulika. Speaking of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, the film was a sequel to the 2007 film starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, and Shiney Ahuja. However, the sequel was a standalone film. While Vidya played Manjulika in the prequel, the 2022 film featured Tabu as Manjulika. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 also featured Amar Upadhyay, Ashwini Kalsekar, and Rajpal Yadav among others. Directed by Anees Bazmee, the film was produced by Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani. It released on May 20, 2022, and is currently available on the streaming platform, Netflix.

Former boxing champ Mike Tyson walked away with a staggering Rs. 20-25 crores for his inane cameo appearance in Liger. Enterprising filmmaker Puri Jagannadh thought he had hit a jackpot when he got Mike Tyson for Liger.
Tyson who? No I am just kidding, mimicking Mr Tyson who in a recent podcast claimed he had no recollection of doing a ‘Bollywood’ film called Liger. Everyone who saw the film seconds Mr Tyson’s sentiment. Everyone who saw the film would like to forget the brackish taste it leaves in the mouth.
But the question to be asked is, how did he get into Liger in the first place? What box office sense does that make? Whose idea was it?
A bit of probing reveals that Karan Johar who co-produced the Hindi version of Liger was totally opposed to the idea of inviting Tyson. Vijay Deverakonda too was not kicked by the idea. It was entirely Puri’s idea.
“Puri had a thing about working with Tyson. Otherwise today’s audience knows nothing about Tyson. He was fixated on the idea of anyhow getting Tyson into the film, no matter what the cost,” a source close to the project reveals.

“This was right when I had started modeling. It was my career’s very first film audition,” Kriti said. While the revelation made KJo go ‘oops!’, she recalled the experience adding, “I was asked to dance to ‘Bahara’ (I Hate Luv Storys) and some scenes from Wake Up Sid (starring Ranbir Kapoor and Konkana Sen Sharma). I was horrible back then,” said the star.

At a time when senior superstars, Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar who should know better, are brazenly selling cancer (a.k.a gutka, paan masala) to the nation, Bollywood’s youngest superstar Kartik Aaryan has resolutely said no to a tempting offer to endorse Paan Masala.
When I double-checked this news with a prominent ad guru, he confirmed it saying, “That’s right. That boy Kartik Aaryan has said no to around Rs. 8-9 crore offer to endorse paan masala. Kartik seems to have principles, a rare commodity in today’s actors who suffer from the gift of the ‘grab’. Saying no to such big money is not easy. But Kartik is conscious of his responsibility as a youth icon.”
Former chairperson of the censor board and producer Pahlaj Nihalani also endorses Kartik Aayan’s decision not to endorse harmful products. “Paan masala is killing people. Being encouraged to take gutka and paan masala by Bollywood role models is definitely damaging to the nation’s health.”
Akshay Kumar has a very clean image. He is seen as a hero of the masses. Then why is he promoting a brand of paan masala? Others like Govinda and even Pierce Brosnan are known to have promoted paan masala.
Shockingly Pahlaj Nihalani reveals that the broadcasting of alcohol and paan masala ads is illegal and unconstitutional. “Law forbids the CBFC from granting certification to paan masala and alcohol ads. Therefore, the ads for these products being broadcast are illegal. Actors who are part of such ads should know they’re participating in an illegal activity.”

Recently, Karan Johar confirmed that his next with Tiger Shroff, titled Screw Dheela has been delayed by a year. Bollywood Hungama did a bit of investigation and discovered that there are multiple reasons for the film to be kept on hold and one of the key reasons is financials not falling in place.
According to our sources, Tiger Shroff had done the paperwork for Screw Dheela for a sum of Rs. 35 crores, and once the film landed itself in the market for sale, it couldn't find any respectable buyers at the asking price. "In today's world, actors charging such big bucks makes a film financially unviable. Profit sharing is the way to go," revealed a source. "When Karan went to Tiger to express his concern, the actor didn't agree to lower the price. Karan was keen to get Tiger on board for a sum around the Rs. 20 crore mark, but Tiger and his team stuck to Rs. 35 crores. Their idea was - one failure can't impact his positioning to this extent," the source told Bollywood Hungama.
"The budget of Screw Dheela was falling in the range of Rs. 140 crores, and that was without taking into account the print and publicity costs. Hence, after all the attempts to salvage the scenario, Dharma Productions finally decided to shelve the film for the time being. If the market improves, the film will start next year," the source concluded.
Screw Dheela was directed by Shashank Khaitan with Rashmika Mandanna as the actress.

Earlier this weekend, Sony Entertainment Television’s ongoing comedy reality show, India’s Laughter Champion came to a befitting end. The ‘Laughter Ka Grand Finale’, which was hosted on August 27, saw the Top 5 finalists - Nitesh Shetty from Mumbai, Jayvijay Sachan from Mumbai, Vighnesh Pande from Mumbai, Himanshu Bawandar from Ujjain, and Rajat Sood from Delhi perform one last time in front of the judges, Archana Puran Singh, and Shekhar Suman. Making the evening even more special were the cast of Liger – Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Pandey who were promoting their film and present at the finale was also a special guest, that is Sunil Grover in the guise of Rinku Bhabhi.
As the country waited in anticipation to know who from amongst the Top 5 finalists will be declared the winner, Rajat Sood from Delhi was awarded the coveted trophy of India’s Laughter Champion. While Nitesh Shetty from Mumbai was declared as the first runner-up, owing to the tough fight between Jayvijay Sachan and Vighnesh Pande, the two were declared as the second runners-up in a tie.
Winner Rajat was awarded a cheque of Rs. 25 lakhs. Speaking about the win, Rajat said, “I was overwhelmed when the celebrations began, and my name was announced. For a few minutes, I had to absorb the fact that I had won. I had planned this moment in my head multiple times but, the reality left me awestruck. It was also a milestone moment as I was performing in front of my parents for the first time in life. They had only previously seen my content online and they would not really bring it up with me or discuss it with me. Their presence was a blessing. Some decisions that come instinctively to you are signals from the universe, which tell us that good things are about to happen. My father is very happy and I could see that pride in his eyes. I am now open to opportunities and shows that will come my way. Now I have to work even harder, and I have a fire inside me to do better. I will try to read more and equip myself to become a better artist.
Judge of India’s Laughter Champion, Shekhar Suman said, “It was a well-deserved win! Rajat fought very hard, and it was a very tough competition. I think Rajat had a very distinct flavour of his own and he comes across as a very endearing guy. He is a millennial, far too young, but he has the wisdom of a 40–50-year-old. He is extremely charming and spontaneous. So, when you watch him with his stage presence, with his spontaneity, his content, his timing, ease, confidence, all of that is a sure-fire recipe for a winner. “
On the other hand, the other judge of India’s Laughter Champion, Archana Puran Singh shared, “Rajat Sood captured our attention with every passing episode. From the very beginning, I knew there was something special about him that got us to notice him and when he started performing more and more, he started standing out even more. He has a “lover boy” image and with the way he uses the essence of poetry in his comedy, I thought he was the perfect candidate to win the show. I saw his journey closely, and I was so hopeful. His finale act was brilliant. The consistency of his performances, his pleasant appearance, his presence on stage, his haazir-jawaabi, his witty responses, and his very chocolate boy look - all go to make him a winner.”
‘Comedy’ is a word that is known universally but, with Rajat Sood infusing ‘poetry’ in his comedy acts, he aptly earned the title of ‘Pomedy.’

Liger, which hit the theatres on August 25, was produced by Karan Johar in association with Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur. The latter recently spoke about the performance of films in general at the box office. The producer’s opinion is that considering the easy availability of content for the audiences, movie makers should create films that entice them into coming to theatres. She also gave examples of how well South films like Kartikeya 2, Sita Ramam, and Bimbisara performed at the box office.
Speaking about it to Free Press Journal, Charmme Kaur said, “Definitely, people have access to better content in one click just by sitting at home. The whole family can watch the biggest budget films on television, and until you don’t really excite them, they aren’t coming to the theatres. But, this is not the case in Bollywood. In August, three Telugu films - Bimbisara, Sita Ramam, and Karthikeya 2 - did phenomenally well, which made Rs. 150–170 crores. It happened in the same country. It is difficult to understand since it doesn’t mean people in the South are crazy for films. It is a scary and depressing situation.”
On the other hand, she also spoke about the delay in the release of Liger. She revealed that they had unanimously decided that the film will have a theatrical release and also added that it felt like it was their responsibility to let films like RRR and Pushpa release before. She shared, “We started the first schedule of Liger in January 2020, we met Karan Johar in 2019, and it has come out in 2022. We held back from coming to theatres for three years as we were extremely confident that Liger was a theatrical release irrespective of the first and second lockdowns, third wave, or theatres opening to 50% occupancy. It was our responsibility to let other major films, such as RRR and Pushpa: The Rise, come out first. Then, we lost summer and rain arrived, so we had to release on August 25. We faced constant hurdles, but we never gave up.”
Liger marks the Bollywood debut of Vijay Deverakonda and is the first pan-India film of Ananya Panday. The film is directed by Puri Jagannadh and it released on August 25 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Considering that the fantasy adventure drama Brahmastra is a pan India release, the team of the film is collaborating with some renowned names in the South industry. While they joined hands with the blockbuster filmmaker SS Rajamouli for their film promotions down South, yet another popular actor from the Telugu industry has extended his association with the movie. It is none other than RRR actor Junior NTR who gained a global fan base with the big budget multi starrer that also featured Ram Charan and Alia Bhatt.
He will be reuniting with RRR co-star Alia Bhatt who also plays the leading lady of Brahmastra. Junior NTR has been invited as the Chief Guest for the pre-release event of the Ayan Mukerji film. The said event will be held in Hyderabad, right before the release of the film, on September 2. Brahmastra also features Telugu superstar Nagarjuna in the role of Nandi Astra. Besides Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Nagarjuna, the film will also see Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy in extremely pivotal roles. Based on Indian mythology, the film is based on the concept of the most powerful Astra (weapon), the Brahmastra. The forthcoming release is a part of a trilogy and has been in the making for the past seven years. Satyaprem Ki Katha will be a special challenge for Kartik Aaryan. It will require him to undergo many layers of personality makeover to emerge in a completely new light. The actor on the lookout for new challenges says he will plunge into a role and film only if he is challenged as an actor. “There is no point in doing what I’ve already done.”
In Satyaprem Ki Katha the milieu, the era, the clothes and body language need a complete makeover. Kartik Aaryan is up for the challenge. “He will set aside a large chunk of his time later this year for intense workshops. There will be a huge volume of preparation and speech modification. Kartik will be unrecognizable in the part,” says a source close to the project.
Going by the intensity of preparation involved, and the director Sameer Vidwans’ earlier achievements in his landmark Marathi film Anandi Gopal, this could be the film that could get Kartik his first National award.

‘Hero’ Shah Rukh Khan and ‘Villain’ John Abraham are getting ready for the fight of the year in Pathaan. Apparently their climactic faceoff in Siddharth Anand’s Pathaan will be a fist-to-fist combat between Khan and Abraham, thereby making this the first onscreen action sequence where a shirtless Shah Rukh will step on camera.
Incidentally John has as important a role as Shah Rukh in Pathaan. Says director Siddharth Anand, “John Abraham is THE antagonist, THE villain of Pathaan. I have always believed in the fact that the villain’s projection should be as big, if not bigger than that of the hero’s. Only when the villain is massive, can the tussle between them be spectacular.”
About the confrontation between the two stars Anand reveals, “We have an extraordinary battle when SRK takes on John! We wanted to present John in a super slick avatar.”
The director says the first looks of the actors are teasing people into the world of Pathaan. “The first looks of SRK, Deepika Padukone and John, truly represent the zone we want the audiences to view the film in. People have now just got a taste of the world of Pathaan. This truly is just the tip of the iceberg and I can assure you that nothing can prepare you for the action spectacle that is coming your way.”

Inspired by one of the biggest hits in Indian cinema, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, the Broadway musical Come Fall In Love by Aditya Chopra is all set to premiere in the US. The show will open in San Diego on September 14 and will continue till October 16. Along with a special note by Aditya Chopra, the news was posted on the official Instagram account of Yash Raj Films. For the uninitiated, the original Bollywood film featured Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the lead and released was in 1995.
Yash Raj Films shared the news on social media saying, “Aditya Chopra’s Broadway-bound musical Come Fall In Love (CFIL) is set to open at The Old Globe, San Diego on September 14. Here’s his note inviting people to see a celebration of love on stage… The musical’s official Opening is on Wednesday, September 14, and will run through October 16. #ComeFallInLove @theoldglobe”. Explaining how close Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is to his heart, Aditya Chopra penned the note saying, “I first conceived the story of DDLJ (even before it was called DDLJ) as a Hollywood story of a white American man and an Indian woman. My main motivation at that time was to present Indian culture and values to a global audience. Years later, as I reimagine the story as a Broadway musical. My mainstay is still the same, showcasing Indian culture to a world audience. And the most powerful way to depict a country’s culture and values is to see it from the perspective of someone who does not belong to the same culture. That is the starting point of Come Fall In Love, the story of Indian Simran, her culture and heritage through the eyes of American Roger.”
He went on to share, “Come Fall In Love is the story of Simran, an Indian American. She is at the center of the musical’s story, as she struggles to balance her love for Indian tradition and her family with her love for Roger. He is a white American man who falls madly in love with Simran and then falls in love with her culture and her country. He aspires towards India and finds a new version of himself in India’s energy, values, and way of life.”
“I’m not directing DDLJ for Broadway. I’m adapting it as Come Fall In Love to tell the story of how powerful love is in unifying cultures, especially today. Netflix has confirmed the production of Parasyte: The Grey, a series by visionary director Yeon Sang Ho based on Hitoshi Iwaaki's comic book published by KODANSHA Ltd. The story is about unidentified parasitic life-forms that live off of human hosts and strive to grow their power. As they start to disrupt society, a group of humans wage war against the rising evil.
Hitoshi Iwaaki's original comic book series Parasyte about invasive life-forms that seize and control human bodies has sold over 25 million copies over 20 territories and countries. The story, charged with much imagination and philosophical themes, spawned animation and live-action adaptations that have become all-time favorites among many fans. And now, it continues to evolve in the hands of Yeon Sang-ho, an illustrious Korean director renowned for many prominent genre films and series.
From the film Train To Busan and Peninsula that launched the K-zombie craze to globally acclaimed Netflix series Hellbound, Yeon has created a universe of his own marked by his uninhibited and awe-inspiring imagination. Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings star Simu Liu, This Is Us star Sterling K. Brown and Abraham Popoola haved joined the star and producer Jennifer Lopez in Atlas. The Netflix project is directed by Brad Peyton.
The film revolves around an intelligence analyst who gets stranded on a distant planet and must learn to fight inside a military-grade mech suit in order to survive. Aron Eli Coleite is penning the script based on an original script by Leo Sardarian.
Atlas falls under the creative partnership between Lopez’s Nuyorican Productions and Netflix where Lopez, producing partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and longtime manager Benny Medina are producing a slate of films, television series, scripted and unscripted content, with an emphasis on projects that support diverse female actors, writers and filmmakers.

The Walking Dead veteran Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be joining the cast of the Amazon Original Series The Boys in Season 4 as a recurring guest star. Details on his character are being kept under wraps for Morgan’s reunion with showrunner Eric Kripke.

Just a day ago, news of Raju Srivastava gaining consciousness went viral after certain reports claimed that the actor-comedian has come out of ventilator. However, denying these, daughter Antara Srivastava took to Instagram to share a note where she not only updated everyone about Raju’s health condition but also requested them to only believe statements given by family members and doctors. However, in the note, Antara did assure fans and well-wishers that the actor-comedian’s health is indeed improving.
Antara Srivastava took to the official Instagram account of Raju Srivastava to share a note saying, “Dear all well-wishers, My dad Raju Srivastava Ji’s condition is stable and he continues to recover slowly. He is on the ventilator at the moment.” The clarification statement came after the personal secretary of Raju Srivastava, Garvit Narang assured everyone that the actor-comedian is out of ventilator and gained consciousness in a statement given to news agency ANI.
Furthermore, Antara, in her note, also requested everyone to only trust information that is given by AIIMS hospital in Delhi and the official social media accounts of Raju Srivastava. “Only statements from AIIMS Delhi and Raju Ji’s official social media accounts are trustworthy and genuine. Any other news or statements from anyone else is unreliable. The doctors and their entire team at AIIMS Delhi are working hard and diligently. We’re thankful to them and his well-wishers. Request you all to continue your love and prayers for his speedy recovery,” the statement concluded.

For the uninitiated, Raju Srivastava was admitted to AIIMS Delhi after the actor-comedian collapsed during his gym training session on August 10 due to cardiac arrest. He was rushed to the hospital by his trainer and later, the doctors had to perform CPR at least twice to recover his heartbeat. Followed by the incident, the actor-comedian is also said to have suffered brain damage and is currently on ventilator.

Dia Mirza turned environment activist, has always been rather vociferous about environmental and climactic change. In fact, Dia has been drawing attention to issues that have cropped up due to negligence of the environment. But away from all that, just recently Dia became a proud mother, and it seems like her joy has been growing each single day. Recently in an exclusive Bollywood Hungama interview, Dia opened up about her past, and shared what her childhood was like. In a candid conversation the actress and activist narrated what her late biological father Frank Hendrich, and her step-father Ahmed Mirza were like and the relation she shared with them.
When asked about her childhood memories, Dia started off with her biological father and narrated what she thought of him. “It was interesting; I can write a book about it. I have spoken about this before, I come from mixed lineage, my father was German and my mother is Bengali; my father was a very interesting man, someone who I really look up to and admire. Unfortunately, I lost him when I was only nine years old, but I have newspaper clippings that talk about his workshops that he conducted with teachers, that talk about his art... the paintings that he made or the sculptures that he made. I know people who still have pieces of his furniture. In fact, just recently someone reached out saying that they had a dining table set which he made, and offered to let me have it. So people are actually sending back certain pieces of his crat to me. He was a dynamic person, very well read. He travelled by road from Germany to India twice conducting workshops in the countries that he visited along the way through Max Mueller Bhavan, he was a deep sea diver, a rally driver, a painter, a photographer... some of my most beautiful childhood pictures are all shot by him. But I lost him when I was very young, my parents were separated when he died, and it took me some time to not just accept that he was no more but is like closure nahi mila, because I didn’t see him, I didn’t see his body, I didn’t fully understand that he was gone and I would never see him again.”
But not being one to be pulled down, Dia quickly moved on to talk about her step-father Ahmed Mirza and why she adopted his surname. “I loved my step farther, he was a remarkable man a lot of what I have learned in life especially the values that have held me in good stead and this is something I can vouch for, are all values that he gave me. We had a very very beautiful relationship, that started off as friendship and then I think as I grew older and I recognized that I had spent more years of my life with him and him as a parent, he just became more and more my father, and that’s why I took on his surname when I joined the Miss India pageant. It was amazing how he never tried to take my father's place but made his own place in my heart. Unfortunately, I lost him as well, when I was 23, and that was a huge, huge, huge loss because I think whatever said and done, the security blanket that a father figure gives you in life, nobody else can. And when you lose a father that young, and I had lost two fathers within one lifetime it was very hard.”
Back on the work front, Dia Mirza who recently became a mother had been on sabbatical from the world of films. Currently focussing on enjoying her role as a mother and doting on her son, Dia seems to be in no hurry to return to the big screen.

Not too long ago we reported that Jacqueline Fernandez has been filed as an accused in the chargesheet submitted by the Enforcement Directorate. However, the actress has responded to it in a plea before the Appellate Authority of PMLA stating that while she has been named as an accused in the Sukesh Chandrashekhar Rs. 200 crore extortion case, some other celebrities like Nora Fatehi have been named as a witness in the chargesheet. She further alleged that just like the other celebrities, she too was conned by the main accused Sukesh in the case.
For the uninitiated, Jacqueline Fernandez was named as an accused in the chargesheet filed after the ED received documents claiming that the actress was a recipient of gifts and assets worth Rs. 7 crores from the Sukesh Chandra and his accomplice. Reportedly, the ED also submitted proof that along with the actress, her family too were recipients of financial favours from the conman. Besides Jacqueline, names of some celebrities like Nora Fatehi too came into limelight, as she too had allegedly been one of the recipients of gifts from Sukesh. However, while Nora has been named as a witness in the case, earlier this month, Jacqueline was named as one of the accused.
In her plea before the Appellate Authority of PMLA, the actress stated that the Fixed Deposits, which were submitted as a part of the evidence, have no connection with the crime and that it was created by her using her own legitimate income. She also asserted in the plea that it was created way before she was even aware of the existence of Sukesh Chandrashekhar. Furthermore, the actress mentioned how she has always attended her summons and cooperated with the investigation by handing over as much information as possible to the best of her knowledge.
Her statement firmly said that she was a victim who was cheated by conman Sukesh just like others, but the agencies fail to appreciate the same. “Taking the entire prosecution case to be true for the sake of arguments, even then, no case is made out against her under the scheme of PMLA or any other law in force. This is a case of malafide prosecution," her statement said. In her plea, she also referred to the allegation of how she was ‘Recipient of the gifts’ which clearly defines as her as someone who was coerced or possibly conned or forced into receiving the gifts.
