The much-awaited glimpse of the debut web-series of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Heeramandi is finally here! Considering that it comes from the house of this popular filmmaker who is known for his lavish and extensive sets, the film based on 1940s’ courtesan culture boasts of such heavy mounted gharana sets with enviable costumes as it gives a glimpse of the lead characters which includes Sharmin Segal, Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sonakshi Sinha, and even Sanjeeda Sheikh.
The teaser takes us into the world of courtesans as they introduce us to the innocent-looking and young courtesan played by Sharmin Sehgal, followed by Manisha Koirala and Aditi Rao Hydari. Richa Chadha’s entry in the promo is powerful but it is the entry of Sonakshi Sinha clad in a black attire that spells revenge. Although the teaser has been carefully edited without giving out much details, they also showcase the intensity of the characters essayed by them, especially Sonakshi. The teaser shows us glimpses of how the web show will showcase the disruptions and chaos of the 1940s when India was on the verge of getting its Independence.
As per a statement released by Netflix, in the midst of a power struggle in Heeramandi, a young heir caught in the crossfire chooses love over succession, disrupting the status quo. Set in pre-independent India against a burgeoning freedom movement, the final thread holding the art of tawaifs (courtesans) is put to the test. Hailed as the grandest and most-awaited seriesm this is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 14-year passion project which he will be unveiling in collaboration with Netflix to global audiences.

We hear that the shooting for the film will kick off from Mumbai and that the filmmaker has already jotted down foreign locales where the film will continue to be shot.
A source was quoted in these reports confirmed these details adding, "Ayan Mukerji has already captured overseas location plates approximately two months ago. Currently, a set is under construction in the city in preparation for Hrithik's first shooting schedule".
A lot of expectations are riding high on this film which will mark Hrithik Roshan’s return on the big screen as a spy and audiences can expect some new twists and turns. Being a part of the ambitious YRF spy universe which is being created by Aditya Chopra, there were references to War 2 in the last release Tiger 3, which is also a part of this spyverse along with Pathaan. With Jr NTR as the antagonist and Kiara Advani expected to play the female lead, War 2 is expected to be releasing by the end of this year.

The property spans 6,245 square feet and is jointly owned by Krishna DK and his wife, Anuradha Sharma. Situated within the coveted Tower Windsor Grande Residences, the purchase also grants the couple ownership rights to a portion of the upscale residential enclave.
The acquisition, finalized in December, saw Krishna DK shelling out a staggering Rs 2.13 crore in stamp duty alone. Documents accessed through Zapkey.com reveal the process behind the deal, which involved direct procurement from Windsor Realty, the developer behind the project.
Nestled near the iconic Lokhandwala Complex, the Tower Windsor Grande Residences offers a premium living experience against the backdrop of Mumbai's urban landscape. Boasting two majestic towers stretched across four acres, the luxury enclave has been a coveted address for Bollywood's elite, counting actors, singers, and industry stalwarts among its residents.
Despite repeated attempts by Economic Times to seek clarification from Krishna DK's team remained elusive, refraining from addressing inquiries surrounding the purchase. Similarly, Gopal Narang, the founder of Windsor Realty, opted to stay mum on the matter.

There seems no end to what the incomparable Shabana Azmi can do on screen. After sharing screen space with Dharmendra in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani for the first time—an unconventional pairing that ignited the screen—Shabana will now be seen with Dharmendra’s son Sunny Deol in Raj Kumar Santoshi’s Lahore 1947, although they are not cast as romantic leads.
Shabana plays the pivotal part of a Hindu matriarch in Lahore who refuses to let go off her ancestral haveli after it is allotted to a Muslim migrant family from India.
Lahore 1947 also stars Preity Zinta as Sunny Deol’s Significant Other. The two were last seen together in the disastrous Bhaiaji Superhit in 2018. Whether Zinta is relocating to Mumbai to resume her career is not known.

Tamannaah Bhatia is set to collaborate with Dharma Productions’ digital wing, Dharmatic Entertainment, for an upcoming start-up dramedy, set for Prime Video India. While the title of the project is kept under wraps, Archit Kumar of Dr. Arora fame will be directing this light-hearted series.
As per a report in Peeping Moon, this dramedy will feature two women and the casting for the second lead is underway. The report states, “Currently in pre-production, filming is slated for mid-March or early April, creating anticipation for a nuanced exploration of the highs and lows of the startup journey.”
This marks the second project Dharmatic Entertainment following Showtime, starring Emraan Hashmi and Naseeruddin Shah. It is set for a summer 2024 release.
For Tamanaah Bhatia, this marks her fourth digital project, following Prime Video’s Jee Karda, Netflix’s Plan A Plan B and Disney+Hotstar’s Aakhiri Sach.

Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar is poised to conquer the digital space with her web series debut. Yes! You read it right. As per the latest buzz, Bhumi is all set to collaborate with Ishaan Khatter in a romantic drama series titled Royals for Netflix.
According to a report by PeepingMoon, the show is produced by Pritish Nandy Communications, the renowned production house behind the International Emmy-nominated Amazon Prime Video series Four More Shots Please! Royals promises a large-scale ensemble drama.
"Bhumi wanted to explore long-format storytelling with a project that is unique yet commercially appealing and makes for a compelling watch for a broad audience. Royals encompasses everything she was looking for in her debut OTT venture, and she cannot wait to delve into this world. Her fresh chemistry with Ishaan Khatter would also be something to watch out for," a source close to the project told to the portal.
The report further added that the show is currently in pre-production and is slated to begin filming within a couple of months. It marks the 24th production for Pritish Nandy Communications.
While fans have to wait for the official announcement of the above-mentioned project, Bhumi has a packed schedule. Her Netflix thriller Bhakshak from Red Chillies Entertainment premieres on February 9, followed by Mudassar Aziz's romantic comedy Mere Husband Ki Biwi with Arjun Kapoor and Rakul Preet. ZEE5 announced the world digital premiere of the much-awaited comedy-drama, Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukistan. Khichdi 2, the follow-up to Khichdi: The Movie (2010) stars Supriya Pathak Kapur, Rajeev Mehta, Anang Desai, Vandana Pathak, Jamnadas Majethia, Kirti Kulhari, Anant Vidhaat Sharma, Reyaansh Vir Chaddha, Flora Saini in prominent roles along with surprise cameos by Farah Khan and Pratik Gandhi. The movie is set to premiere on ZEE5 on 9th February 2024.
In the sequel, the Parekh family goes on an adventure to save the world with Praful playing a double role and also serving as an emperor of a fictional country Paanthukistan. The absurdity, the gags and the silliness return as the Parekh family’s adventure transcends various landscapes – cities, beaches, snow-clad mountains, deserts, and caves. The film promises an uproarious adventure as the Parekh family stumbles upon a royal revelation that catapults them into a whirlwind of comedic chaos.

Kriti Sanon has added another feature to her cap and has joined a host of Bollywood celebrities by receiving the Golden Visa for UAE. The special visa is generally provided to investors, entrepreneurs, individuals with exceptional talents, among others, and the actress has received the honor as a popular Bollywood star. In the past, many of her colleagues like Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, including co-actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, along with several South celebrities have received this special visa.
With this special visa, the owners of the Golden Visa can study, start businesses, and even reside there up to 10 years without any national sponsorship. According to recent reports, Fighter, which has been garnering rave reviews across, has become a victim of piracy. The film, which brings together Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone for the first time on the big screen, reportedly is based on the life of Indian Air Force officers. Inspired by real life events, the Siddharth Anand directorial is heavy on aerial action and VFX, as well as it is expected to be a one-of-a-kind film which has now been leaked online.
The full movie, reportedly, is available on torrents and other websites which is expected to have released on these platforms on Day 1 of its release, that is, on January 25. From what we hear, the movie, which has been leaked, is even in high-quality HD format and it is being said that this incident can have a heavy impact on its box office collections.
Earlier in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Siddharth Anand had described the challenges he faced when he was thinking of making Fighter. He revealed that he had no background in armed forces and had sought the help of former Air Force officers to pen down this script. The director also faced many difficulties in creating aerial action sequences and he had said, “It was very challenging because it was like keeping a fish out of water. I had no idea how this is done. I just knew what I wanted to do. The how of it was a big journey. It was a journey of two years of prep, planning and extreme research, then getting the air force on board, getting them to allow us to use their airbases, choppers by giving them over 2000 storyboards, showing them how we were going to do our real and believable scenes and we can execute them. It’s been a very long process, which makes War and Pathaan look like very simple films.”
Apart from Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone playing Air Force officers, Fighter also stars Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, Sanjeeda Sheikh, among others in key roles.

Shaitaan is expected to be one of the most awaited horror drama with the film bringing together the cast of Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, and Jyothika for the first time. The makers have still kept the look of Janki Bodiwala who will be essaying the role of Ajay Devgn and Jyothika’s daughter in this horror thriller under wraps. For the unversed, Janki also essayed the same role in the Gujarati version of this film, titled Vash. Both Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff had an underwhelming 2022 and 2023. But looks like they’ll have a rocking 2024 if the teaser of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is anything to go by. The 1 minute 41-second-long promo packs in a lot and yet, keeps a lot of aspects of the film under wraps.
The first half of the teaser introduces the menacing villain, played by Prithviraj Sukumaran. Interestingly, his face isn’t shown and his voice and actions do the talking. The antagonist has an AI connection and that adds to the madness. And then our heroes are introduced and that takes the teaser to another level.
Both Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff are bona fide action stars. Hence, it looks quite convincing to see them doing death-defying stunts. Both also mouth a massy dialogue involving ‘Hindustan’. In cinemas, it’ll be greeted with claps and whistles for sure. In fact, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan seems to be their massiest film to date.
The credit for this slick Bade Miyan Chote Miyan teaser should also go to the makers. Director Ali Abbas Zafar deserves brownie points as he proves that he’s one of the best directors today when it comes to action films. There’s no doubt that he knows the genre well and his sharp talent is visible from start to finish. No wonder that until one point, he was the only filmmaker, besides Rajkumar Hirani, to have had two Rs. 300 crore grossers in his filmography. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan can be his third giant success, provided the content clicks.
Lastly, the producers Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani, too, deserve credit. They have mounted the film on a huge scale. They have gone all out to ensure the audience gets to see a grand action entertainer on the big screen. Technically, too, the film looks rich. Be it cinematography, VFX, production design or VFX, everything seems top-class.
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan releases on Eid 2024. Here’s hoping the songs and trailer also land well. Once that happens, nothing can stop this action entertainer from taking a huge start and emerging as Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s highest-ever opener.

Salman Khan and Karan Johar were all set for their first full-fledged collaboration after 25 years on the Vishnuvardhan-directed The Bull. The team had united at FilmCity in Mumbai on December 28, 2023 for a Mahurat and soon after, it was confirmed that the action thriller will go on floors in February 2023. Bollywood Hungama has the exclusive scoop that the shooting schedule of The Bull is pushed again due to on-going India-Maldives conflict.
"Karan, Vishnu, and Salman need more time to decide on the exact route that the screenplay will take. They are reworking on certain elements of the script and will take the film on floors once the ugly relationship between the two countries settles down a bit. At the moment, the February schedule has been delayed by at-least 2 months," a source told Bollywood Hungama.
While Vishnu has taken the film on the writing table, Karan is figuring on the other modalities. "Salman is on the same page as the team of Dharma and is also reading many scripts," the source told us further.
For those unaware, The Bull is based on the famous Operation Cactus conducted by the Indian Army to protect the Maldives from a terror attack. Salman Khan plays the role of Farrok Bulsarra in the film and has already started his training to lose weight and get into the shape of an army officer. More details on the shoot schedule of The Bull is awaited.

Amid the feud between Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios related to profit sharing of Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal, now, it is reported that the studios have settled out of court. For unversed, Cine1 was upset with T-Series for not following their agreement regarding the movie Animal. T-Series argued that Cine1 had already given up their rights in a 2022 agreement. The case was taken to court which may have affected the film's release on a digital platform, Netflix India.
As reported by Bar N Bench on Monday, January 22, the lawyers representing both studios informed the Delhi High Court that “they have reached an agreement to resolve their issues. This means a settlement has been officially signed and will be presented to the court for approval.” With the settlement in place, the hurdles for Animal arriving on OTT have been removed.
On Monday, Justice Sanjeev Narula acknowledged the agreement between the studios and instructed both parties “to officially document the agreement. The court will review and address the matter on January 24, with the expectation of bringing it to a conclusion at that time.”
As per an earlier report in ANI, Cine1 accused T-Series of breaking their contract, claiming that the latter did not consult them for promotions like teasers, credits, marketing, and disclosing final costs. The studio also alleged that T-Series didn't share details about agreements with Netflix India and Sony Pictures Networks India.
T-Series, represented by Senior Advocate Amit Sibal, responded, claiming that in an August 2022 amendment agreement, Cine1 gave up all rights to the movie for Rs 2.6 crores.
The court, led by Justice Sanjeev Narula, accepted the case and summoned both parties. They were asked to submit written statements and affidavits, after which, the case was set to proceed with evidence marking on March 15 with additional arguments scheduled for January 22. In February 2024, Aamir Khan is poised to juggle acting and production endeavours. The actor is slated to headline Sitare Zameen Par, the Hindi remake of the Spanish film Campeones, directed by RS Prasanna. Simultaneously, Khan is steering the production of Lahore 1947, a historical venture featuring Sunny Deol and helmed by the esteemed Rajkumar Santoshi.
Sitare Zameen Par goes on floors on February 2. According to a report in Pinkvilla, a source revealed, “Aamir has been in the prep mode for Sitaare Zameen Par over the last few months and is all set to take the film on floors from February 2. He has finally zeroed down on his look for the film and has done several reading sessions with the ensemble cast. It’s going to be a marathon schedule for Sitaare Zameen Par and the actor has allotted 70 to 80 working days on the film. With a lot of time invested in pre-production, this would be among the fastest films that Aamir would deliver to the audience.”
In the upcoming Hindi remake set in Punjab, Aamir Khan takes on the role of a headstrong minor league basketball coach sentenced to community service. Tasked with coaching a Special Olympics team comprising individuals with diverse learning disabilities, Khan's character undergoes a transformative journey. The adaptation, crafted by RS Prasanna, intricately weaves the essence of Indian sensibilities into the narrative, drawing inspiration from real stories of developmentally challenged players. Aamir Khan is also producing Lahore 1947 produced under his banner Aamir Khan Productions. The film is being headlined by Sunny Deol, and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Santoshi and Sunny have previously delivered three box office hits together in the form of Ghayal, Damini, and Ghatak. It also marks the reunion of Aamir Khan and Santoshi after their iconic cult classic, Andaz Apna Apna. The report states that the film will go on floors on February 12, 2024.
A source told the portal, “Lahore: 1947 is a partition drama by Rajkumar Santoshi with Sunny Deol in the lead. The film goes on floors on February 12, 2024. The consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya will be happening today January 22 with Prime Minister Narendra Modi participating in the Pran Pratishtha ceremony. As per a report in The Hindu, an array of selected 506 influential figures, spanning politicians, industrialists, film stars, and more have received invitations. Following the ceremony, PM Modi will address the attendees.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff are in Jordan for three song sequences shoot. The film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, adding another layer of intensity to this rollercoaster ride of emotions. Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan has been ready for a while but there was no news of its release. Yesterday, fans, media and trade got a pleasant surprise as it came to light that the much-awaited sports drama will finally see the light of the day. It’ll arrive in cinemas worldwide on Eid, that is, in the second week of April this year. Interestingly, Ajay Devgn had just one release in 2023 – Bholaa – but this year he will be seen in as many as 5 films, that too as a leading actor.
Ajay Devgn will open his account this year with Shaitaan. The spooky teaser poster was launched recently and the teaser is expected to be out soon. Along with Ajay Devgn, it also stars Jyotikha and R Madhavan. Directed by Vikas Bahl, this supernatural flick will release in cinemas on March 8.
This will be followed by Maidaan, a period sports flick directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma of Badhaai Ho (2018) fame and produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, Arunava Joy Sengupta and Zee Studios. It also stars Priyamani and Gajraj Rao and is based on the golden era of Indian football, between 1952 and 1962. Ajay plays Syed Abdul Rahim, an accomplished Indian coach in this film, which has music by A R Rahman.
Two weeks after Maidaan’s release, Ajay Devgn will again be seen on the big screen in Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, on April 26. It marks his first collaboration with Neeraj Pandey and according to producer Shreyans Hirawat of NH Studioz, it is a romantic thriller and though it has action, it won’t be a “typical Neeraj Pandey film”. Reportedly, it is a love story that spans 19-20 years, from 2002 to 2023. Jimmy Sheirgill and Saiee Manjrekar also star in this flick. The film’s music is composed by Oscar-winning music director M M Keeravani.
In short, between March 8 and April 26 or in 50 days, Ajay Devgn will have as many as 3 theatrical releases.
And that’s not all. On Independence Day, Ajay Devgn will be seen as the popular character of Singham in Singham Again. The Rohit Shetty action entertainer has an ensemble star cast, comprising Ajay, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tiger Shroff and Arjun Kapoor.
Ajay Devgn’s final release in 2024 will be Raid 2. It went on floors earlier this month and will arrive in cinemas on November 15. Vaani Kapoor plays the female lead while Riteish Deshmukh essays the antagonist. It is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta.
For a mainstream actor, having as many as 5 releases in a year is rare, especially in today’s times. In the past, however, Ajay Devgn has had more than 5 releases in a year. It was a significant year for him as Raajneeti and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai were huge hits and created a rage among the audiences, especially the latter. With only three days left before the release of the aerial actioner Fighter starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor, the excitement amongst fans for Siddharth Anand’s directorial is at an all-time high. The film is set to kick off Republic Day weekend on January 25. Amidst much anticipation, two big releases of the year, Akshay Kumar – Tiger Shroff’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Ajay Devgn starrer Shaitaan will have their teasers attached to Fighter in theatres.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, a source close to the producers of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan revealed, “While the teaser is not hard attached to the prints of Fighter, the producers of BMCM – Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani - have struck a deal with the national chains as also some of the single screen associations to screen the teaser before the film or in the interval.” All the PVR-INOX screens will screen 1 minute 41-second teaser across India.
Talking about Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan, the source further said that the upcoming film is “a supernatural thriller and the makers want to reach out to a wide section of the audience with their first teaser. It’s a tight spooky cut and has some shock element too. While digital launch will take place soon, the theatrical experience for Shaitaan teaser begins from January 25.”

HanuMan has been creating quite a buzz ever since its release. Touted to be one of the biggest movies of Telugu actor Teja Sajja, the film released in India in multiple languages. The film inspired by Hindu mythology and tales of Lord Hanuman, has garnered love from audiences and the makers are planning to return some of it back by making a large donation to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir.
Readers would be aware that the inauguration of Ram Mandir in the spiritual land of Ayodhya will be done by honorable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi on January 22. The event, which will be attended by several known stars and names, has already received nationwide and worldwide recognition. Considering that the film is inspired by a portion of the Ramayana, the makers of the recently released HanuMan have asserted that they would be donating a huge sum of Rs. 2.66 crores which they have earned from selling over 50,000 tickets for the film as a way of returning to society. The makers announced about it on X, formerly known as Twitter, on January 21. Speaking of the film HanuMan, directed by Prasanth Varma, the film stars Teja Sajja in the lead along with Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Raj Deepak Shetty and Vinay Rai in key roles. With Dasaradhi Sivendra as the cinematographer and Sai Babu Talari as the editor, the music is composed by Anudeep Dev, GowraHari, and Krishna Saurabh. Produced under the banner of Primeshow Entertainment, the film released on January 12 in Telugu along with dubbed versions of Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.

The first big release of the year, Fighter, is all set to release this week and the excitement is tremendous. The advance booking opened on Friday night and the ticket sales till now have been encouraging. Meanwhile, the censor process of the Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone starrer was completed on time before release. Bollywood Hungama, in this exclusive article, brings to you the list of cuts faced by this aerial action thriller.
As per the cut list, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) asked for four modifications in the film. Firstly, the anti-smoking static message was asked to be mentioned in Hindi. Secondly, an abusive word was muted or replaced in two dialogues, one at 53 minutes and the other at 1 hour and 18 minutes. Thirdly, ‘sexually suggested visuals’ were removed. These 8 seconds of visuals were probably replaced by ‘suitable shots’. Lastly, 25 seconds of the audio in a TV news visual scene was removed and replaced with 23 seconds of audio.
After these changes were carried out, a U/A certificate was granted to the makers of Fighter on Friday, January 19. The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 166 minutes. In other words, the run time of Fighter is 2 hours and 46 minutes. Fighter releases in cinemas worldwide on January 25.
Interestingly, this is the second consecutive film of actor Deepika Padukone and director Siddharth Anand which faced cuts from the CBFC over hot scenes. Their last film together, Pathaan, was passed by the CBFC only after the close-up shot of buttocks, 'side pose (partial nudity)' shots and visuals of sensuous dance movements during the lyrics 'Bahut tang kiya' in the song ‘Besharam Rang’ were removed or curtailed and replaced with 'suitable shots'. Even then, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to break the story and it was one of the biggest viral news of the year 2023.

In November 2023, Rashmika Mandanna, who was one of the first victims of deepfake video, had taken to social media to express her shock and requested the authorities to take proper action against such cyber-crimes. The police officials, who were investigating the matter, after an FIR was lodged against the perpetuator under multiple charges of forgery, identity theft, etc., they finally made an arrest on January 20.
Just a day ago, we had reported that the Delhi Police had arrested the accused man from Andhra Pradesh. Owing to the same, Rashmika Mandanna took to social media to express her gratitude towards the officials in a heartfelt note. She posted it on her Instagram story and it read, “Expressing my heartfelt gratitude to @delhi.police_official (folded hands emoji) Thank you for apprehending those responsible. Feeling truly grateful for the community that embraces me with love, support, and shields me (indian flag).”
Readers would be aware that the actress’ response on social media had sparked a debate about stringent actions being taken against cyber-crimes. In fact, many of her co-actors and industry friends had come in support of Mandanna and had asserted the need to impose better guidelines in such cases. In her post, the Animal actress also urged other people to take action if they are a victim of such cyber-crimes as she added, “Girls and boys - if your image is used or morphed anywhere without your consent. It is wrong! And I hope this is a reminder that you are surrounded by people who will support you and action will be taken! (white heart emoji)”.
For the unversed, about two months ago, a video featuring Rashmika Mandanna entering a lift in a black low-cut top was doing the rounds on social media wherein it was later revealed that the video belonged to an Indian-British influencer Zara Patel.

The highly anticipated action film, Fighter, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, has created quite a buzz since its announcement. With the recent release of the film's trailer, fans have been treated to a glimpse of the chemistry between Hrithik and Deepika. The runtime of the film is now revealed.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted Fighter a UA certification and revealed that the film will have a runtime of 2 hours and 46 minutes. This certification provided insights into the film's plot, which centres around the escalating militant activities along the Line of Control. In response to this, Air Headquarters established a special unit named Air Dragons at the Air Force base in Srinagar. Comprising Sukhoi 30 fighter jets and ALH Helicopter, Air Dragons is an elite unit featuring the best combat aviators from the Indian Air Force.
Starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles, Fighter promises to be an intense and action-packed cinematic experience. Notably, Anil Kapoor also plays a pivotal role in the film. The film is helmed by director Siddharth Anand, marking his second collaboration with Deepika Padukone after Pathaan. The combination of Hrithik and Siddharth has previously delivered films like War and Bang Bang.
Fighter also stars, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi and Sanjeeda Sheikh. It will be available in theatres in 3D and 3D IMAX formats and is scheduled to hit theatres on the eve of India’s 75th Republic Day, January 25th, 2024.

2024 will be exciting as it’ll see the release of some exciting Pan-India films. One of the most awaited ones is Kanguva. It is highly anticipated not just because of Suriya’s casting but also because it stars Disha Patani and Bobby Deol. The latter is on a high after the blockbuster success of Animal. As a result, Kanguva has a huge chance to open with a bang in the Hindi-speaking markets. And if the latest buzz is to be believed, another exciting face might be a part of the film.
As per the buzz in the market, the makers of Kanguva have approached Kartik Aaryan and Siddhant Chaturvedi. The speculations suggest that the makers want to establish an antagonist at the end of the first film. For this, they want to cast a popular Hindi actor, who’ll play the villain in the sequel. According to the buzz, this character will have a 5 to 10-minute cameo appearance in Kanguva’s final portion.
If things fall in place, this will be the first Tamil and first major Pan-India film for Kartik Aaryan as well as Siddhant Chaturvedi. As for Kanguva, it is directed by Siva and backed by UV Creations and Studio Green. Its budget is expected to be in the range of Rs. 300-350 crores. The second look poster was unveiled a few days ago and was well received. With music by none other than Devi Sri Prasad, Kanguva will be released in 10 languages in 3D format.

Actress Alaya F has come a long since her debut in Jawaani Jaaneman. Starring alongside industry-celebrated stars Tabu and Saif Ali Khan, the young actress will soon celebrate her fourth anniversary in the film industry on January 31, 2020. She has two releases in 2024 and one of them is Sri starring alongside Rajkummar Rao and Jyothika. It is a biopic on the life of Indian visionary Srikanth Bolla in Sri, directed by Tushar Hiranandani.
Speaking about her upcoming film, Alaya F says that she is honoured to be a part of such an important story. She admits that Rajkummar Rao has to do all the heavy lifting in the movie but she is simply happy to be a part of a project like this biopic. Talking to Bollywood Hungama, Alaya F says, “Honestly, Raj has the heavy lifting of complexities. For me, I just love the story. I thought it was really sweet and inspirational story and I just wanted to be a part of it in whatever little way I could. Raj is doing all the heavy lifting in this film, I'm happy just to be a part of a really wonderful project.”
She adds, “When I read the script of this film, I remember thinking to myself that ‘If I did not know that this was a real-life story, I would have been like ‘Just because it's a film and you can conveniently do anything. So all of this is possible.’ But then when you realize it's a real-life story, it becomes so incredible, because you can't even make up stuff like that. It's just incredible what this man has done. His life story is so inspiring and so incredible. Just being able to be a part of a story like that is wonderful. It's a genre that I love. I love biopics; I love inspirational stories. I'm just grateful to be a part of it.”
Written by Jagdeep Sidhu and Sumit Purohit, and pictured by Pratham Mehta, Sri portrays the life of Srikanth Bolla, an industrialist who fearlessly pursued his dreams despite his visual impairment, ultimately founding Bollant Industries. Gulshan Kumar and T-Series Presents a T-Series Films & Chalk N Cheese Films Production LLP, Sri is directed by Tushar Hiranandani, is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar & Nidhi Parmar Hiranandani. The film releases nationwide on the 10th of May 2024.

Fighter, the upcoming aerial action film directed by Siddharth Anand, renowned for his work in Pathaan and War, recently unveiled the trailer of the movie. The film, featuring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor, promises a thrilling blend of heart-pounding action and a patriotic narrative. The film showcases the aftermath of the tragic 2019 Pulwama attack. While many praised the grandeur of the movie and the nationalism attached to it, many have criticized it for its jingoism. Amidst the mixed reactions from the audiences, Pakistani celebrities have also come out to criticize the trailer. Amongst them was Hania Aamir, who is known to be a big fan of Bollywood movies, and seemingly called out the movie for spreading hate. Following her message on Instagram, Siddharth Anand responded to it.
On January 16, Pakistani actress Hania Aamir took to her Instagram story to call out the film for 'feeding the riff between the two countries' through movies. She wrote, “So sad and unfortunate to know that there are artists out there in this day and age who are aware of the power that the cinema holds and still go ahead and feed the riff between the two countries. I feel sorry for the artists who try to bridge the gap by trusting their art as a medium.”
Siddharth Anand responded with an ‘Oh!’ when someone wrote, “Was 'art' breathing here @realhaniahehe??” The reaction was to certain comments which claimed that Parwaaz Hai Junoon was anti-India movie. However, others claimed that Hania’s 2018 movie never mentions India in the movie. Many criticized a particular moment where Hrithik’s Patty fights the terrorist as he says, “POK ka matlab hai Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Tumne occupy kiya hai. Maalik hum hain. Tujh jaise terrorist ke wajah se hum badtameezi pe utar aaye, toh tumhara har mohallah IOP ban jayega,” as he adds, “India Occupied Pakistan” and he brutally punches the terrorist.
In another post, he left a ‘curious’ emoji as a reply to a netizen who claimed on X, formerly Twitter, that Hania’s Parwaaz Hai Junoon was anti-India. The netizen wrote, “Didn't she literally work in a movie which was anti india lol if indians celebs have no issue with the anti-india stuff pak celebs do in movies and in reality why do pak celebs care so much.”
Well, Hania Aamir isn’t the only one who slammed the Fighter trailer. Renowned for its humour, the Golmaal franchise stands as a cherished comedy series in the film industry. Director Rohit Shetty, currently promoting his first web series Indian Police Force, delighted fans by confirming the return of Golmaal with its fifth installment. Expressing his commitment, Shetty revealed plans to commence work on Golmaal 5 within the next two years.
Speaking to Pinkvilla, Rohit Shetty recently said, “Golmaal 5 will happen for sure. Looking at the response, I will have to make it a little soon. I think you will get Golmaal 5 in the next 2 years,” while admitting that he plans to make it grander than the previous instalments.
“I think, cinema in today’s time has to be grand and bigger than the likes of All The Best and Golmaal, which I made back in the day. By big, I don’t mean action. I can’t add action in Golmaal, but I can amp up the scale in the genre. There are so many fans of Golmaal, and I am making this brand for the fans. The next Golmaal film has to be bigger, and better though it’s a comedy franchise,” he said.
He also plans on making other projects which are not set in the cop universe. “Even I feel the need to make a film like Chennai Express. If I crack a story which is good and grand, I will make a fresh film,” he said.
Meanwhile, Indian Police Force stars Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty and Vivek Oberoi. Created by Rohit Shetty and directed by Rohit Shetty and Sushwanth Prakash, Indian Police Force marks Shetty’s digital directorial debut. The series also stars Shweta Tiwari, Nikitin Dheer, Rituraj Singh, Mukesh Rishi, and Lalit Parimoo in pivotal roles. The seven-episode series is set to premiere on January 19, 2024, on Prime Video. Actor Pranutan Bahl--granddaughter of legendary Indian actor Nutan is set to star in her maiden Hollywood feature Coco & Nut, opposite American actor-filmmaker Rahsaan Noor. Billed as a spirit-lifting romance, the charming love story is directed by Rahsaan Noor. This marks his first film since the critically acclaimed 2018 film Bengali Beauty, the highest-grossing Bengali language movie of all time which captured hearts and was also the first to release in the USA, UK, and China.
"Feeling worthless, an ambitious young woman (Pranutan) fighting to save her marriage gets a pick me up from her know-it-all college sweetheart (Rahsaan)," the official logline of Coco & Nut reads.
Production for the film will be in English and Hindi and will take place entirely in Chicago from June to July this year, with a diverse cast and crew drawn from both the United States and India. After films like Salman Khan backed Notebook (2019) and comedy-drama Helmet (2022), the upcoming film marks Pranutan Bahl’s International debut and promises to be a significant milestone in her career.
Pranutan hails from a distinguished lineage of actors, with her father being the renowned Mohnish Bahl and her grandmother being the legendary Nutan. Actor Kajol is her aunt. "I've always wanted to do a romantic drama," Pranutan expressed. "Coco & Nut is a beautiful story in which my character, Nut, journeys through a transformative phase in her life. I’m so grateful that I make my international debut with a movie like that."
The screenplay for the film was inspired by a text message Rahsaan Noor received from his college sweetheart five years after she broke his heart and deals with the intricate relationship dynamics faced by Millennials and Gen Z; exploring the trend of delayed marriage and its impact on modern love.
"I'm really grateful to be getting another opportunity to make a film," Rahsaan Noor said. "That too on a subject that is not only personal to me but also a subject that I've found so many people around the world relate to -- when looking for your life partner, how do you really know if you've found the one?”
“I grew up like so many other second-generation South Asian Americans -- with a love for our movies from the motherland. That's why we're making Coco & Nut in English and Hindi. It's a privilege to be working with Pranutan on this film. From the moment I saw her in Notebook, I was taken by her talent and knew that I had to work with her one day," the actor-filmmaker added.
Written by Rahsaan Noor and Raghav Murali, with additional screenplay credited to Priyamvada Singh, the film is produced by Hamilton Moving Pictures' Chad Shields, alongside Ranjith Rajasekharan and Raghav Murali.
"Coco & Nut is a deeply moving film that captures the universal themes of love, resilience, and cultural identity," stated Shields. "It's a timely exploration of both the immigrant experience and younger generations' evolving relationship dynamics. The picture will prove to be a poignant reflection of our modern, interconnected world."
Co-financing the project are Noor’s Ziryab Films, Henry Leong’s Macuverse, and Executive Producers Mashruk Zahid and Lasaly Changkachith. The film is slated to release in 2025. It's final! Bollywood actress Vidya Balan's next is set for theatrical release. Titled Do Aur Do Pyaar, the film also stars Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D'Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy. It is directed by debutant Shirsha Guha Thakurta. Along with the first-look poster, the makers have also announced the release date of the film. The film arrives in cinemas on March 29, 2024.
The film, a progressive, uninhibited take on modern relationships, marks Applause’s foray into the big screen experience and this second collaboration with Ellipsis Entertainment (after the Tahira Kashyap Khurrana-directed Sharmajee Ki Beti) promises to be an ultimate date movie.

The project was announced in 2021. At the time, director Shirsha Guha Thakurta tells us, "When I first heard this story, I was instantly attracted to its universe- honest, funny and so today. Back in December 2023, it was reported that Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff are set to head to Jordan for three song sequences. Helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, this will be the final schedule with 400-500 crew members travelling to Jordan, of which 200 are dancers.
“I am very excited about shooting in Jordan. I’ve never been there but I’ve heard it’s a beautiful country,” Akshay Kumar told Hindustan Times, adding “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has superb action and requires a certain terrain. Vashu (Vashu Bhagnani) ji and the director, Ali (Ali Abbas Zafar), have chosen Jordan with a lot of thought for this schedule. Earlier we shot in Mumbai, London, Scotland and Abu Dhabi for the film. And Jordan, here we come now”.
“As we embark on this cinematic journey, Jordan becomes more than just a backdrop; it becomes a character in our story, contributing its timeless allure to every frame. Jordan not only compliments the magnanimity of the film but also its stellar star cast,” producer Jackky Bhagnani shared, and added, “We hope after the songs come out and the film is released, there will be more shootings there. We hope we can set a trend.”
As per the report, a source revealed, “The makers are going all out to make the songs a visual spectacle for the audiences to experience on the big screen. They plan to capture different moods and shades of Jordan through the songs. They are taking a crew of 400-500 people, which includes around 200 dancers. So, one can imagine the scale of the songs that they are planning.”
The songs will be choreographed by Bosco Martis. The international schedule will be between January 19 to February 2.
The film also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, adding another layer of intensity to this rollercoaster ride of emotions. Vashu Bhagnani and Pooja Entertainment present Bade Miyan Chote Miyan in association with AAZ films. The film is written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, and produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Jackky Bhagnani, Himanshu Kishan Mehra, and Ali Abbas Zafar.
